I have a Kel Tec P11 I carry all the time, love it. A gun that I really, really like and have never owned, but fits the bill nicely and I think is the best lookin' square gun on the market is the Smith 3913, and specifically the best lookin' is the lady smith model. Now, they offer an NL or something like that which is the same gun without "LadySmith" written on it for those males that are not secure in their sexuality...:D... but in stainless it's got lines like Rachel Welsh, drop dead sexy. :D And, from everything I've read, the thing is an awesome accurate performer that is well made and reliable, which of course counts more than looks, right? It is VERY slim in profile, though, and easy to carry IWB.

S&w 3913tsw

S&W 3913TSW is basically a LEO Detective type weapon. It's what my wife carries and is a great little gun. Small, light and strong as hell. It's been 100% reliable with factory mags and all ammo we've used. ~1500 rounds in the last couple of years.

p-64 -- but not 10 rounds

p-64 -- but not 10 rounds. It is single stack, with heavy first pull (DA)
very accurate, and reliable. I suggest getting the one stamped 1971
(cost should be 150)

Look at the Hi Power FN or Browning. (FN builds them for Browning and now sells them under their own marque)

Proven, and reliable.

Many folks find the very thin frame/slide, work for them. The double stack grip is much thinner than most.

Try it, you may like it.

Go figure.

I have a S&W 3913 that carries well. The aforementioned KelTec P-11 is also another good option, crappy trigger, but you get used to it.

The STI LS-9 or BLS-9

STI is known more for their 1911's, and the LS and BLS series are based on 1911 style and control. You won't find anything slimmer or of better quality, but it will cost you in the $700 plus area for something new or like new. Here's a site to check:

http://www.stiguns.com/

Just noticed, they don't even list the BLS model anymore. It had a larger grip, more full sized than the compact, short grip LS models. I own one of each, LS9 and BLS40. Really like the fit of the BLS model.

Larry :D

don't own one myself, but i've noticed that khars have slim body and low profile and if i needed another carry gun that'd be it.

I (heart) my Little Lady. :D

I'm amazed only one person has said an H&K P7. Suckers aren't cheap, but they're solid German steel. Incredibly tough, accurate, great trigger, very concealable. You do pay for it all however.

P7's are great.............

I agree about the P7's. I own one, and carried it for a while. Nicest shooting 9 for sure, and very, very accurate if I do my part. But not exactly what I would call slim. It conceals very well, but compared to the Kahr or the LS9, the P7 is not slim. I put rubber grips on my Kahr, so its not the slimmest either. And the S&W 39, even though its a single stack, has a full feeling in my hands, and my hands are not that big. The LS9 is by far the slimmest grip full power handgun I have seen. But as Jenrick said, you'll pay for it all. If I only had one gun to own, and wanted something to conceal and rely on, I go with my P7.

Larry :)

Forgot to add, if you do buy a 3913, think about shipping it to Teddy Jacobson at Actions by T. He did a wonderful job on my 3913 trigger and action. Also re-crowned the barrel. I think he still takes work on a limited basis. Nice guy and A+ work.

First you say you are looking for a slim 9mm for concealed carry and then admit you are in Joisy (as in NJ). When is the last time you checked the laws on handgun ownership in NJ?

It's not up to politicians in NJ or any where else to decide for anyone that they must go unarmed. It's my moral responsibility and duty to defend my life and those of my family members regardless of what some politician who thinks himself important believes. Not to highjack a post or anything...

+1 to the Walther PPS. It's the real deal and well worth the wait. The First Edition model is an excellent addition to the Walther line: accurate out of the box, mechanically superb, and (after almost 500 rounds) 100 percent reliable. It feels great in the hand and is fun to shoot. Don't leave home without it.

I have a Kahr CW9......without the slide stop, measures 0.89". It fits my hand great and very well balanced. You can get them for about $400 +/- around DFW
