I just bought a EAA witness which is manufactured by Tanfoglio in Italy, it runs like a champ. In the last month I've run almost 800 rounds through it with out cleaning before it jammed on me, it is also more accurate than me, I can hit 8 inch steel plates out to 50 yards consistently with it. With the availability of uppers in various calibers they are worth a look. I am looking into buying a 40 upper and a 22 upper in the near future for this pistol.

There's always the Para P-18. It's an all steel (not alloy) double-stack pistol in the 1911 design. Because my P-14 has had "issues", I'll stop short of recommending it. Just wanted you to know it's out there.

CZ-75B is my favorite 9x19 doublestack, with the BHP in second place. Locally, I can still get the polycoated CZs for under five bills....

I bought a used one.

It will take me a while to get used to the trigger, but I can hit what needs to be hit with it from day 1.

Cheers to the guy that sold it to me!

I really really like my witness elite match. Or the cz-75 SA on a budget, or a cz competition gun if you've got the money.
