Need help identifying handgun

I’m helping research an EMGE (Gerstenberger & Eberwein) Revolver, made in Gussenstadt, Germany. Probably made between WW I and 1968.

However, it is also marked “U. Iberwelm”. And I can’t find that anyplace. My guess is that it is the German exporter, but I can’t prove that. Can ID that marking?

Jane's Gun Recognition Guide has an Em-Ge Model 323 Valor revolver, made in Germany. Caliber is .32 S&W Long. Apparently the design itself started out as a .22 blank cartridge revolver, then later made into a .22LR as well as the .32 S&W models. Production was from the mid 1960's till importation into the U.S. was banned with the GCA of 1968. Markings of "Gerstenberger & Eberwein Gersetten-Gussenstadt" can be found on the left side of the frame. From all appearances, a rather inexpensively made revolver.

Looks like a person's name to me...

The "U" (usually with a crown) may be a German proofmark, but I think you may be misreading the marking; the current firm of EM-GE was a partnership between Gerstenberger and Eberwein that was formed in 1950 (the Gerstenberger family was involved in firearms manufacturing in eastern Germany, but managed to escape to the west before the Russians took over and partitioned the country; once they were in West Germany, they formed a partnership with Eberwein to produce (initially) blank, tear-gas, and starter's pistols). You may simply be misreading "Gerstenberger u. Eberwein", because "und" ("and") is commonly abbreviated as "u."
