Hey guys made a profile to ask some opinions. Browse the forum a lot, but finally decided I'd like some first hand input. So here's my situation. I just purchased a CZ 527 carbine in .223. I'm looking to scope it. It's mainly for coyote hunting, plinking up to 100 yards, and seldom long range plinking. My problem is there is not many places around here to look through these scopes and compare them side by side. I like the thought of a 1-4 or 1-6 scope for max FOV.

Price range I'd like to keep under 350.
Im trying to minimize bulk and weight. My brothers vx hog is nice but it has 25ft less fov than most 1x scopes. I was able to look through the nikon m223 1-4,but I did not like how big the eye piece was ,seemed very bulky. Same goes for the vortex strike eagle. It also seemed very bulky. I'm curious about the burris tac 30 and the vortex crossfire ii. Have not seen either in person. I sent a primary arms 1-6 back when I had an ar15 because the reticle was too busy. So any input would be great, thanks!

While I think that's a low power for coyotes, if you are wanting a large FOV, I would check out a Vortex. They make the Diamondback in a 1.75-5 and 2-7. With a $350 budget, you could probably actually move up the lineup to a 2.5-10 Viper. My only gripe with Votex is that the eye relief is kinda short, but with a .223, that won't be a problem.

I'll have to look into that1.75-5, may be just what I'm looking for. My father may have that on his marlin 336 actually. As for the 2.5-10 ,I think it's too big. I'm worried it would hit my front sight. I need keep the length down to 11.5" or less I have a weaver super slam 2.5-10 not mounted but it's a brick at 22oz and is too long.

Was hoping if anyone has any input on that mtac or crosswfire eyebrow size. Kinda worried it won't clear the Cz bolt handle

If you are selecting a scope primarily to meet your aesthetic preferences, I wouldn't be able to help. If you want a scope that will help you take advantage of the wide range of capability and excellent accuracy that the 527 Carbine offers in .223, I highly recommend the Burris Fulfield II 4.5-14x42. Compared to other popular scopes in the $400- $600 price range it is an awesome scope for the money and works great on the 527 Carbine.

Nice looking rifle! I've heard good things about the fullfields. The 2-7 may be a good option for me. Like I said prefer a large FOV close range critters on the move

It's a lower end scope than you were planning on buying, but you can pick up a leupold vx-1 2-7x33 for about 130 after rebate and it comes with a set of shooting glasses from b&h photo. (but you have to buy today. last day of the promotion. 3-9x is same price) It is pretty close to your power range and has a nice slim eyepiece, which is super nice on those CZ's. AND then you'd still have a bunch of money left over.

I have a burris FF2 2-7x and bought a vortex diamonback 1.5-5x scope. When I put them both on 5x and looked though them, the vortex was much brighter and had a WAY bigger field of view. I liked the reticle on the burris better though, and vortex has kind of bulky eye pieces.

So i thought my fathers scope was the vortex, but its a bushnell banner 1.5-4.5. Was alot clearer than i thought it would be

if 3x is enough for you the weaver 1x3x20 is a great scope. the leupold vx1 1x4 or 2x7 are other good choises that have good optics and don't break the bank.

The weaver 1-3 is nice have it on my marlin 336ss. Looking for a tad extra zoom and possibly illumination for night hunts
