need suggestions for next buy

im trying to find a handgun mybe you guys could give me some suggestions
ive come up with a list of the things i would like
1. i want a 9mm caliber.
2. external safety
3. exposed hammer
4. da/sa
5. able to carry cocked and locked
6. 4 inch barrel
7. mid-large frame something not too big for cc (im used to a 5" 1911)
8. ofcourse reliability is a must
9. polymer wouldnt be bad
is there any handgun out there thats close to this

An H&K USP compact might fit the bill. A little less than a 4" barrel, but not much less IIRC.

Just one suggestion. I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Just bought a SR9 and the next one on my list is a Beretta Px4 Storm. Why I need another 9mm I don't know but these two are the smoothest pistols I've shot lately.

CZ 75 compact

I was looking for the exact same qualities and I ended up with a CZ 75 compact. It is not a polymer pistol though. 9 mm with 14+1 capacity. 3.9 inch barrel I think.

Your number 5 -- "cocked and locked" -- do you actually mean that? That restricts the choices to like one or two older patterns like the 1911.

Otherwise, take the Beretta 92FS.

No, not necessarily. There are DA/SA models out there, many of which are very "modern", that have C&L capabilities.

...and just what the heck do you mean by "older patterns"?! I think you said "older," but actually meant "time-tested". Right?
