Howdy all, first post here after hearing tons of good stuff about THR.
Anyway, on another forum I belong too, we were having a "Post your 10/22" discussion, and it prompted me to go out and buy one of my own. So, today (and 263 greenbacks later) I'm the proud owner of a bone-stock 10/22.
First thing I want to do is replace the stock with a Choate Dragunov model. First off, any tips or thoughts about this stock are greatly appreciated. Now, I'm not a big guy (I'm about 5'5"-5'6", about 190 pounds) and the Dragunov seems like its length of pull could be a little long, but this could be just the way I've seen it pictured.
Secondly, I'm wondering if there would be away to put optics on my rifle, but still put some aftermarket ironsights on it, in case of a situation better suited to avoiding the optics. Is it just a matter of getting taller rings? If I can do that, I was looking at this Williams peep sight (Right Here). Any experience with this model? I also found this type, but I don't know how effective they would be.
As far as the other accessories (muzzle brakes, flash hiders, and the like)...do you really need 'em, or is it more of a "Hey, I can bolt this on to the rifle, so I will!" type of thing? Because, you know, both are just dandy by me.
