I just bought a new Ruger 10/22 TD. It is a special run with Mossy Oak, 25 rd mag, and a SS threaded barrel.

My question is two parts - what suppressor could/should I run on it. I don't want to go over $400 on the "can".

Secondly, is their a scope or red dot that I can run on this that wouldn't need to come off every time I take it down and bag it up, i.e. fit in the bag.

This is the one I bought - http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=378485151

I can't help with the suppressor. I tried using a 2-7X scope on mine and it would not fit in the case with the scope. Most dot sights would probably work fine. While I haven't tried it yet I believe a 1-4X20 scope would probably fit. The 2-7X I tried came close.

Silencerco Sparrow is IMHO the way to go as its the easiest to take apart and clean -- which you'll need to do with a .22lr suppressor about every 1000 rounds.

Yeah, I have a little buyers remorse on my TI Stratus. It works great, but both end caps are jammed hard. I am unable to disassemble even with two end cap tools so it will have to go back to them for service.

Ive been slowly looking at scopes for my take down. I think I want WD rings but would also like to leave the scope on most of the time.

According to rimfirecentral, the scope cant stick out past the receiver half more than about 2".

The Weaver 2.5-7 scope seems to work Ok. The Leupold seems Ok too.

Quite a few are running the Leapers Bug Buster scope which is really short.

The variables tend to be a little longer than a fixed scope so keep that in mind too.

There are other too.... eye relief plays a part in it which means how you crane your neck may impact the results too.

But... about 2" past the receiver 1/2 seems to be the magic #.

At the moment I have a Williams receiver sight on mine. It's way more accurate than the open sights on the barrel and it's very compact.

I was thinking of a 1-4 x 20mm Scope for it, or maybe a 4 x 32. Isn't there a bigger pocket on the other side of the case, or is that the pocket that won't fit a large scope?

I run an Eotech on mine and love it, but it costs as much or more than the rifle. For me it's worth it as I think it's the ultimate fast action .22 sight but YMMV. It does fit excellently in the case though:D

I'm using a Huntertown Guardian 22 suppressor on my stainless, threaded 10-22. Works great and disassembles easily with no special tools. I wouldn't go more than 200-300 rounds between cleanings on any .22 suppressor.

I use a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot on mine.

Its not that it doesn't fit in the pocket itself. Closing "it"* is the issue because of the overall length of the receiver 1/2 plus how much the scope extends past the receiver.

"It"* = I'm not sure if closing the pocket or closing the bag is the problem from what Ive read on rimfirecentral.

This is going to cost me a fortune :D

My favorite LGS isn't class 3, and neither is my long time FFL - so I will order the suppressor after the holidays (need my tax stamp anyway). I'm not even sure where to find a class 3 around me.

I just ordered the 10/22 LaserMax from Amazon for $90. Not that "in to" lasers, but for turtles and squirrels it might be fun. It also acts as a mount on the other side for a light......I'll play.

Next will be a scope.......I'm leaning towards a Leupold VX1 2-7x28mm.

At least .22LR is coming back around and is still the cheapest route for fun.
