What wedge to get which grip off?
The grips should be the same on both new 4-inch versions of the SP, and I'm not aware of any wedge being needed or included.
Denis
You are right, no wedge...had a brain fart!
The wedge was included with a S&W I just bought...doh!

Well, I picked one up Saturday! It was too late to shoot, so I had to wait until Sunday for some range time. I ran a mixed bag of rounds (125, 140, 158 and 180) through it and there were no surprises. It went BANG! with each pull of the trigger and shot to the sights.

It's going to make a nice camp and trail gun with 158s or 180s and be a comfort on the nightstand with 125s or 140s. The sturdy construction and longer barrel will do the job should the need to 'buffalo' some miscreant arise. It's a keeper!

I handled one at the gun show this past weekend.

Balance point was definitely toward the muzzle.

Grip felt a little small in my hand.
I could like that gun with a larger grip.

The electric green front sight is still jarring to my mature gun collector's eye.
The practicality of the green sight when acquiring a sight picture is convincing.

Would definitely be on my short list if I were in the market for ANOTHER .357.

Rhinoh,
Thanks. You really had me wondering what I'm missing here. :)

Shot my sample this afternoon. It works.
I'd definitely go with a bigger grip, but it was controllable with 110s through 180s.

"I'd definitely go with a bigger grip"

That's interesting, thanks. I haven't handled one, but it looks a little small for my XL hands. My 4" Service-Six has Pachmayr Presentation grips on it.

Years ago, when I got my 3-inch SP, the little factory grip (besides being oogly) just didn't make it for me.
I put the rounded Hogue wood on it & it immediately "fit".
When the new 4-inch .22 SP came along, I did the same.
If I keep this 4-inch .357, I'll do it again. Current laser-engraved walnut panels dress it up a bunch over the older cheap & cheesy plastic panels, but I need more to hold onto.

There you go- slap 'em & slap 'em hard! Show 'em who's boss!!! :D
(Important to establish that early on in the relationship. :) )
Denis

I am glad to see this. In several wish-list forum threads over the years, I have expressed a desire to see a 4" SP101 in 357 Magnum.
