At the Crossroads Gunshow this last weekend I bought a Bulgarian Mak from J&G Sales of Prescott AZ for $140.00 including tax and today I finally got it to the range. I fired 250 rounds through with no failures of any sort and am extrelely pleased with this new gun. I looked up the serial number and according to Makarov.com it was made in 1979 but once I got the grease off of it it looked brand new. Now I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for enhancing the sites, all black is hard to see and what to do about an IWB holster for CCW. I am left handed. Any suggestions.

Agree about FIST holsters.
I have a kydex tuckable that is about as thin as I have ever seen.
The J-Clip is all but invisable and is a great holster for when you want to try going 'tuckable'.

For absolute comfort, try a COM IWB from 'Holsters by Eric'.
Have one for my Mak and it is VERY NICE and would imagine a left hand version would not be a problem.

If you don't want to get to fancy and just want three white dots you can put them on yourself.
I've done this to all but my last 3 Maks. Haven't got around to them yet.
I've never had this paint chip or peel off.
The dots make quite a difference in seeing the sights.

This is about how they look. These dots are much bigger than the ones on my EG and Bulg Maks.

You need
Testors model airplane paint , Acrylic Enamel (water washup), Insignia White FS 17875.
A wet rag
A round toothpick and or straight pin
Alcohol

Clean the sights with the alcohol

Just touch the tip of the toothpick or pin in the paint and practice putting dots on something to see how big a dot you want .
After a little bit you get the hang of "flowing" the dot where you want it.

It may take you many times to get just the right size dots where you want them on the sights.

Just keep wiping the paint off with the wet rag until you are satisfied.

My record was two good ones first try and 4 or five tries for the third one.:)

That sounds better than the glow-in-the-dark stick-on dots from Makarov.com. I have them on my 2 Maks. The rear sites are OK but you have to cut a thin strip for the front sight and glue it on and I can't get it to stay on for any length of time. Obviously I don't count on these to actually perform as night sites unless I have time to shine a flashlight on them prior to shooting a bad guy.

There is nothing wrong with the stock sights!! In fact, you will spend more on the sights than you spent for the entire gun!! :D

I had a custom Kydex IWB holster made by PREDATOR HOLSTERS .

He's in Mesa at Caswell's, I believe.
I'm not sure if he still has the mold, though.
It's been a long time!!
He can make you a left hand holster, no sweat!!! :D
