This crate of rifles was found in Iraq by some of our soldiers:

I think it redefines the term "pimp rifle", but these might actually be gold plated, and not just paint...

Tamara: I dont know how many pythons there are in Iraq, probably shark skin instead.

C'mon, admit it...you'd love to have one of those!
I would. Can you imagine how much fun it would be?
"...yeah, this is a GOLD plated AK from Iraq..."

I was watching FOX News the other night and they were showing a Iraqi citizen celebrating and he had his AK with him. I had to look twice, but it appeared to be nickel plated. The lighting could have been what caused it to look nickel, but it might have been one of these type of rifles.

Betting Art's Granma is gonna get you for using the "P" word---LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

The more I look at 'em---those nasty gold AK's are growing on me---thinking it would be a cool war trophy to bring back--if I were there and able to sneak one back.

Too bad they're gonna be destroyed...

War trophy rules being what they are and all. :(

Also found, yet another pimp gun. Different model this time.

Mmmmmm..... Gimme that and some black spray paint. :D

Please, dear God, let that be an AirSoft.

Please, please, please tell me that they didn't do that to a real MP5.

They did?

Oh, those, vicious, cruel barbarians!

That alone justifies the invasion; they were torturing guns!

I wonder why they didn't go all out and plate the buttstock, SD foregrip and the trigger pack..

Just imagine what it would look like it if they were into carbon fiber like Skunk is..

:p

Persistent rumor has it that The Godfather is one of Hussein's favorite movies.

It he, or anyone on his behalf, had the singularly poor taste to desecrate a Thompson in that manner.... :fire:

Those AK's are Krinkovs. The gas block is different and the handguards are regular size, where a Krinkov would be shorter. Those could be Romanian AIM rifles, but I didn't know they used that type of folder.

whats the corrosion resistance of 18k plating? How does it handle up to sand/wind/mud?

Those have GOT to be "comemeratives" or trophies or rewards to higher ups, remember the minister of finance (or whatever) showing up with a pimped up ak and LBE for a press conference?

Too bad those weapons can't be de-watted and brought home. Neat war trophy for sure.

And Tams, hate to burst your bubble but I saw a fully FACTORY engraved HK MP5K that was gold inlaid and used 8 POUNDS of Ivory for the grips. Talk about pimp.

Hey... if someone else is footin' the bill for the gun and the tax, I'd be proud to own a gold plated MP5SD... Just might not show it to others. :uhoh:

Probably the best camo they could think of if they had to hide out in one of Saddams palaces.

Dr. Rob,

I saw a fully FACTORY engraved HK MP5K that was gold inlaid and used 8 POUNDS of Ivory for the grips.

I know; we should invade Germany too, just over that. ;)

I had to suffer through a whole month last year (April? August? I'm blocking it out from the pain...) of a glossy 11"x14" pic of that hideous engraved and gold-inlaid MP5K being the gun o' the month in my HK 2002 wall calendar.
