Last week I happened to be visiting the local gun store and saw a unfamiliar 9mm. It's an American Tactical C92. Turns out it's a Turkish Beretta 92 clone.

I like the Beretta 92 and the AT interested me since I like compact guns. I did a little research and found nothing but good about the gun, so I bought it, $400 OTD.

Nice gun. I have about 500 rounds through it now. Accurate, reliable and uses my Beretta magazines.

Saturday a neighbor lady shot the gun and immediately bought one.:)

ATI is importing a number of clones made in Turkey. I've seen a CZ75 clone, this gun, and a 1911. They seem to well made. From your report, it sounds reliable too. Always nice to have options at nice prices.

I beg to differ the only thing that has any connection to a browning hi power is the HP in its name.

Its looks more like a clone of a SW 2 gen 9mm pistols and some CZ75

I agree; nothing like the BHP. The BHP is a single-action 13 round 9mm with a manual safety, this one is double-action, 18 rounds with a decocker.

I love Beretta clones. My wife got me a Helwan for my last birthday. 8)
Now if only more manufacturers saw past the internet chest pounding about Taurus and went back to placing the safety on the frame and allowing for carrying locked and cocked ...

I ordered two of the AT C92's from CDNN for $299 each last week. Picked them up from my FFL Tuesday and was extremely impressed (and a little surprised) by the fit, finish and general feel of the guns. They are every bit as nice as my two original 92's. At the range they proved to be 100% reliable and very accurate. And, on the plus side they have no plastic parts like the current Beretta products.

The ZIGANA is not a dirrect clone of anything, but does use a modified browning mechanism.

I believe the Zigana is actually a Walther P88 Compact copy that has been subsequently uglified. This is my opinion based merely on the look of the pistol (as in the takedown lever, external trigger bar etc).

Thanks to ATI we are seeing a number of MKE made firearms in this country now. MKE is a fine gun manufacturer so don't let the made in Turkey thing fool you, they make military weapons primarily.

MKE also makes very good guns and many clones under license by other companies. They make HK rifle clones under license by HK that are identical to the guns HK makes for a whole lot less money. I have an MKE HK-94 clone that has been 100% flawless with every ammo I've tried for several thousand rounds now. If you buy a gun that says MKE Turkey you can be pretty certain that it's going to work and work well at a very reasonable price.

I got a look at the .45 Thunderbolt ATI is importing from the PI (SAM) and it was truly impressive. All steel, investment cast frame, forged slide and barrel, excellent fit and finish, palmswell grips, rail and a tad overpriced (it was a gun show). The asking price was $750 but I think that's $50 more than MSRP.

Originally I was looking for an ATI imported GSG (German Sport Guns, made in Germany)1911 .22lr which by most accounts is another great shooter.

It seems ATI is reasonably diligent about which models they import and inexpensive competition is always helpful in a tight economy.

A few weeks ago a friend of my sisters' bought a AT C92 and loved it. He convinced my sister to buy one and she loves it. I shot both of them and I loved them so I bought my own.
I agree with others that the fit and finish is second to none and the function is flawless as well as very accurate. Collectively the 3 of us have shot several hundred rounds and not one bobble on the part of the pistol.

I did get a couple of FTEs only because I was using low powered target loads. There were no malfunctions with the full power loads.

My only complaint is that the bore on mine slugs at .356 and the chamber will not except a brass case with a .356 or .357 bullet shoved into it. I guess I will not be shooting cast bullets in that gun because shooting cast requires a bullet large enough to seal the bore to prevent gasses from passing the bullet and seering lead then ironing it on with the next round.

Could it be the particular cast bullet shape? I have shot a bunch of cast lead RN in my 2 AT C92 pistols. Also I've shot some JHP/SP reloads loaded with (38) 125 grain .357 dia bullets.

I've been so impressed with the AT C92 I bought a second one. My close friend also bought two.

I'm not counting rounds but I've put many hundreds of trouble free rounds through both guns. I was blasting with one a couple days ago. The only problem was picking up all the brass in the heat.:(

So far the local small gun store has sold 11. The manager told me 10 of those were on my recommendation and I normally do not personally recommend ANYTHING, no matter how well it works for me.

I'm pretty sure the manifacturer is Yavuz Girsan.
Quality is good and many parts are interchangeable with Beretta parts.

I also like obscure weapons. I looked over six shot clone of Colt by B.C. Miroku. While it is well known maker known for MK series and Browning 'Citori' O/U shotguns I have never seen one of their revolvers. The quality was good and the price was insanely low $119. While steel on their 50s and 60s products takes to oxidation like duck takes to water it is brutally strong making their products long-lasting.;)

M2, The chamber will not allow a case with a .357 bullet stuffed into it to enter. Every gun you buy is a crap shoot. Its just my luck to get a barrel from a new cutter that had not worn down just a little bit. Conversly , I have some guns with under sized bores and they don't shoot anything accurately.

Otherwise I could just seat the bullet deeper or get a truncated shape.

While it's good to have diversity on the market I can't bring myself to buy anything from Turkey, their political situation is...unpleasant for me. I'll stick with Ruger, they at least make guns here and employ Americans.
