:( I gave away my wonderful Ford pickup about this time last year. [sniff] (Wife said that we didn't need a third vehicle with almost 300k miles on it that got 12 mpg, and my buddy really needed a truck.) In the 7 years that I owned it, I did transport my Sendero in it quite a few times. There was a certain symetry to it: the full-length bed, extended cab F250 with the 7.3 L International diesel engine (read: much torque), and the 26" heavy-barrelled, heavy-stocked, oversized scoped, high-powered Remington Sendero 700 in .300 Win Mag.

Shortly after I gave up the Ford truck, I got a Winchester M 70 .243, which I'm extremely fond of, now. I suppose, to show a trend, I should obtain a Chevrolet pickup to go with it. Closest thing I have is a Saturn 4dr. ;) (Hey, it's a GM product)

I've no preference with regard to M70's V M700's. I do have a slight preferance for a Ford pickup.

Brand loyalty seems to be something that we inherit from our fathers. Ever see A Perfect World? The Costner character always tries to steal a particular brand of car, because that's the car his daddy favored. Not far from the way things are.

yeah, I don't know anything about cars, but my father is a GM mechanic, and he ingrained in me an abiding prejudice against Fords and Dodges. Imports he doesn't mind, so neither do I.

I don't know how much I like the Winchester. I've never had one. But I do like controlled-round actions. They just have character, whereas the push-feeds just don't have the history behind them, they don't excite me like my VZ 24.

I've had more model 700's than 70's but loved all of them! As for trucks, been a Ford man all my life but my next one will probably be a Dodge diesel, for reasons that we won't go into.
