Hello everyone. Hope all is well. I just signed up for this forum to share particular interests in gun ownership, safety, latest news and CCW.

Just a little bit about myself. I'm expecting a Glock 35 in October...hopefully. It will be dressed up with Trijicon night sights, 3.5 connector with NY1 springs and in OD green. And it'll be used for protection and competition. Will be working more on my accuracy skillls. Currently have a membership a the local range. I just purchased a nice Surefire W111D tac light...military version and can't wait to attach it on the G35.

I'm in the corporate world, but love law enforcement; the lifestyle, work ethics and commitment to protect....but life takes you somewhere else.

Looking forward to meeting new people with the same interests.

Please wish me luck on getting my CCW.

Take care.

P.S. Here's a picture of what it'll look like...but in OD green and a longer bezel on the tac light:

Welcome! How'd you find this place? I came by on a google search (not in the ad section). I think I searched for "knife training" or something.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Yes, the G35 will be my first gun. After taking a basic firearms course months ago and trying out different revolvers and semi-autos the G35 was the one for me. Not only for affordability (within my budget) but it had the right feel and whenever I pointed at the X, there's a nice hole after the bang. My first GSSF competition tournament will be coming up on the first week of November. Looking forward to it.

I'm in Southern Cali, yes please have mercy on me. The gun laws stink, homes are over priced...but the beach, weather and lifestyle is comforting me.

And how I came across the site...I did a search on "CCW" and this forum came up. Also, there are other message boards that I'm a member of.

I'm happy to meet you all.

Welcome aboard - keep us posted on how the CCW goes - I thought the odds are zero here in LA.

CCW, I can try.

I definitely want more firearms training.

I need to take a CCW course and....go through all those nice DOJ (Dept. of Justice) loops, finally get the OK from the Sheriff Chief. FUN!!!:barf:

From what I've experienced, you have a good chance to get that permit if you're in Ventura or Orange counties...LA, you're SOL ;)

Welcome to the site. Like your choice of first weapons. Good luck on the ccw. Sorry about the home prices and such.

Really cool choice for your first gun: if you can't CCW your gun, you might as well used all the barrel length you need!

You might want to look into a .22LR slide for your Glock, so you can shoot a couple hundred .22 rounds to start out your practice session (at 2 pennies a shot), before closing out with a few mags of .40.

With the money you save on a conversion slide, it pays for itself pretty quick.

Advantage Arms seems to have the best rep, and they make a G35 version: http://www.advantagearms.com/conversion_kit.html

Slips on and off your frame with no tools, just like taking your Glock apart for cleaning. Considering the hassle and expense of buying another .22 handgun in CA, it's good that you can order this online and have it shipped to your door.

Welcome aboard! Take all your CA friends out shooting with you! -MV

I'll definitely look into that .22LR conversion kit. Valencia a just 30 minutes away from me. Thanks for the link.

Since I'm a newbie on this site, please be easy on me. :)

I'll bring the coffee, donuts and ammo next week. LOL!

Where's that damn Jim March quote when you need it? The one about if you find yourself liking Glucks, you've already lost your soul???

:neener:

(Welcome!)

Welcome from Texas...

Well the fact that you picked CountGlockula as your name has many of thinking "why didn't we / I think of that?" :banghead:

I'm new here as well, so you're not alone. Prepare for two things: a tremendous amount of knowledge AND a civil discourse. People here are top notch. It's the THL, afterall.

In Texas, as you know, we all carry guns :), so good luck in CA; there are members who can help you if / when you have questions.

Take care and welcome,
DFW1911
