Howdy, I am Manny from Texas, retired military and a newly addicted fanatic to 22lr. I currently shoot my 10 22 ruger to 230 yds successfullly at clay targets. I am building a new 10 22 and should hopefully have it ready by Jan.
I have purchased the 20" SS bull barrel from Kidd, which by the way are on sale at 20%off. Am trying to decide on a stock by Claude Gatewood, or Jon Tucker or a Bell and Carson legacy. I will mount a 3-9x32 Sightron Scope on a picatinney rail. For the mean time I will stone the trigger and polish it my self to about 2.5 lbs. I will ultimately finished off with a Kidd trigger. When fully done I hope to engage targets to 300 yds. I will post pictures when every thing is completed along with a range report.

Welcome to The High Road.
there's a sticky at the top for new members to say hi.

A 10/22, in Texas??????
I thought it had to be a lever gun in Texas;)

Hope you stay awhile & have fun.

Wait, you currently shoot clay targets out to 230 yards and plan on 300 yards with a 22lr rifle. Things really are different in Texas. Welcome and thanks for your service.

New and Looking for answers!

Hello, I have been interested in things that go boom most of my life, starting really with a hand-me down .22 from my uncle.

My extra interest was peaked when I received a Springfield armory M1 Garand as a wedding gift, from a family friend who knew I was looking at one for quite some time.

I am open to any help in maintaining, ect, but am especially looking for information on the scope mounts, as the actual ones are really expensive for my budget, and I have the means to make them if I can get the measurements and maybe a picture or two!

Newbie to Site, long time shooter

Hey folks,

Came across this site when I was looking for different reviews on some handguns...

Lots of good info in this site, and the members seem pretty cool.

Thanks for the site!

Been lurking for a while, but new-ish to guns

Hi all,

I've been reading posts on this forum for a while, and I must say it's one of the friendliest forum communities around. I grew up with guns in the house, but never got into the hunting thing that most of my family enjoys. I've recently discovered the joys of pistol shooting, and hope to improve my skills in that area. In the future I will have my cc license, but as I currently live in WI, it's a bit of a moot point.

Glad to be here.

Dan

Hi, I'm Ed from Michigan. I have a Sig P229, Charter Arms .38 spc and a 20 ga shotgun. Next year I'm interested in getting an AR-15 and a mouse gun.

This is definitely the BEST gun related forum that I have come across.

hi, my name is Arthur. i live in Namibia "big game hunting country, duck-or-get-shot", lol. i own a semi-auto handgun, .22 cal and this is why i joined THR.
when my grandad past away a few years back i inherited his firearm, but it has a problem. u c the mag is faulty, it won't keep the round in when loaded, so it jams constantly and is unsafe to use.
the handgun is a .22LR "Llama" "Airlite"Cabilondo Y Cia Elgoibar marked H1 and on the right side of the gun its engraved "Llama" Especial. serial 273656
if any body can help me, i am looking for a mag. i just want it to be fully functional as it has alot of fun memories.

but yea, i am very intersted in ar's(car15, m4 and the gali series) and hunting rifles.

thanx a bunch

Armed Immigrant

Hi all... I'm Rob, and I'm from Ireland.

I moved to the USA a while ago, and up until July of this year, being a non citizen, I couldn't own a gun.
I had to make do with trips to the range and shoddy rentals.

However.... Recent changes in WA state law now allow non-citizens with green cards (yep, I came here the legal way) to purchase and carry firearms. :)

I just applied for my CPL, and I'm looking forward to my first gun putchase in the USA.

Thanks for providing the great forum/resource for firearm enthusiasts.

Cheers.

Howdy folks,
Greetings from good ole Virginia. Joined THR this past week, just got nerve to post. I am an avid shooter, mostly handguns, especially 45's. Love to hunt, shoot, fish, shoot, shoot, shoot. You get the point. I've read some really interesting posts and have enjoyed doing so. Look forward to a long relationship with THR.
Thanks

Hi everyone. I have been shooting since I was six (now 30). Mostly handguns, I grew up shooting falling plates. I have never done any competing though I am thinking about getting into IDPA. Concealed carry inches forward in Illinois every year. Down here in Southern Illinois "wait til next year" refers to being able to carry a gun instead of being able to see a winning season for the Cubs.

Anyway, glad to be here. If there are any Freemasons here let me know.

I don't know a Cornelio but you would be surprised how common the name actually is. It is a Spanish name. Quite common in Spain and other Spanish speaking countries. Not many here in Illinois but lots in states with more dense latino population.

new member

Hi, I'd like to introduce myself as the humble1. I live in San Bernardino County, CA. I believe in the right of gun ownership, for law-abbiding citizens, only. I look forward to conversating with various members, in obtaining advice and providing some personal experiences, that may be helpful to others. Thank You.

Hello all. My name is Jackson and I live in Fort Valley, GA. Today I purchased my first handgun, Smith and Wesson 38, and came here to learn what I can. So far it looks like a great site and I can't wait to dive in.

Hello, I joined to asked some questions about fixing one of my 8 rifles, and have found a home for my inner gun nut. I can't quit reading this stuff. Great site. Oh yeah, I'm a 10 year Navy vet, avid hunter, and shooter, and a concealed firearm license holder.

I live in East Texas, 27 years old, grew up in Central California. I'm an engineer working in the oil field. I really want to soak up all I can, and I thought this would be a good place to start. I want to eventually get to be able to get into gun-smithing as a hobby or something like that.

I have a single shot 12 ga I got for Christmas while I was in high school, a cheap Chinese-made tactical shotgun from Big-5 I got in college for $150, a Remmington 770 30-06 caliber for deer hunting, and I just got a Benelli Montefeltro in 12 ga. from Gander Mountain.

Next up is the Judge in .45LC/410
After that I'll be saving up for the AR-15... hopefully they won't be illegal by then.

I'm Rod from Fort Worth, Texas. I was raised a military brat and am an ex-Navy Viet Nam vet. I've been shooting since I was 7 years old with my father, and love it as much today as I did back then. I've been hooked on 1911 pistols and AR15's forever, and can't seem to own enough of them. (a true addict) I'm a single parent to a teenage son and have passed on my addiction to my boy. I'm glad I found this forum as it looks like I may learn a lot more that I need to know because any knowledge is always a good thing!

New guy here...

Morning everyone!

My name is Ted and I've been involved in shooting for about 20 years now. I have no real preference between pistol, rifle or shotgun. (I'm actually in the process of building a Remington 870 now.)

I'm not one to post often (unless I have something significant to add), but I do lurk daily.

Seems like a really good group of people here and I'm really looking forward to becoming a part of the community.

Hello all!

My name is Mark, and I live in Eastern NC. I have not really been around guns much the last 25 years, but recently had a renewed interest. A friend referred me here, and the all the info has been great, and I have learned a lot "lurking" here the past few months.

Thanks
