Hey

Newbee! New to the forum and to being armed. I was formerly not in favor of owning guns but events in our country and in my home town have convinced me that I need to be armed. So, I recently became the owner of an AR 15, a 870 and a Mossberg 590 12 ga, two S&W M&PC.40 s&w's, a Sig 229SSE (had to have for the eye candy in provides me!) in 40 S&W, and a Kahr PM 40.

I'm eagering waiting for the Illinois government to create a law permitting concealed carry and I got a Kahr PM40 so I'd be prepared for that eventuality.

I landed on this site when I was googling 308 vs 30.06 and found a civil and knowledgeable conversation regarding that topic.

Anybody here from the azbilliards community? I'm JimS over there.

Hello all, my name is Dale. I grew up in a family that did not believe in firearms. My father was in the Military, mostly as a civilian and hated firearms. That could also have been from other reasons we won't get into. Anyway, I always had liked guns. But growing up me, I heard a lot more anti-gun talk then I cared for. Anyway, when I was of age, one of the first things I did was go and buy a gun. Sig Sauer P226 - and wish I would never have gotten rid of it. Ended up having a child and my significant other had 2 already and she would also tell me how scared she was if the kids had gotten a hold of the firearm. Anyway, I'm not that compliant to everyone else around me now. If nothing else I'm learning more and more and I'm teaching my kids how to use and enjoy them.

Outside of that, I kept searching for information and it kept bringing me back to this site so I started looking around, liked what I've been seeing and joined. So off to boards to pick everyones brains! Thanks

New member, Hal Carter. I'm wondering if it was a bad idea to use my real name. Anyway, my interest is in modern self defense type guns.

I've been shooting for over 25 years, in the hunting field but mostly handguns and Ar's and AK's.

Hey everyone, just joined today hoping to find some answers to a few questions. I live in western Wa., have never hunted, but really want to get started. I thought I'd start out with small game and work my way up. Thinking about getting a Remington 870 20ga. for rabbits, ducks, and geese, any thoughts? Also, I'm not really sure where to go. I live in the Olympia, Wa. area, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone....my first post here. My shooting life began with a Daisy over 50 years ago. Always been around hunting and guns as a pastime. Read allot on this forum...but never joined....till now.

Did lots of shotgunning in my younger years, which grew into deer hunting and varmint guns....resulting in a quest for accuracy. I invented some needed accuracy reloading tools and made a good company from my quest and some pretty cool tools.....if I do say so myself (grin). Sold the biz a few years ago and more-or-less retired.

Currently playing with revolvers and 22's (just added a Marlin 39 and a Vaquero to my collection) and trying to build a SAFE STEEL PLATE range for use with my grandsons and a few friends. (gotta teach those kids to shoot well)

Hello from St. Louis

Hi! I have been shooting for a few years now, and reloading for one. Lifetime member of the NRA, and member of NWTF.

Glad to be on the boards!!

Hi

Been into firearms sense I can remember.
Had a CCW for 13yrs.

My interest is fairly broad. Have a couple BP revolvers (not replica's) have a couple target + tactical rifles, cartridge pistols range from derringers (spelled with one R) to H&K's.

Its not that I'm a lurker I just think it's other peoples business how many or of what type my guns are after loosing some to theft.

I have done a few builds from AR's to Hawkins.

Hello all I have been shooting as long as I can remember, from BB guns to high power hunting rilfes, and for sum reason I always simle when I'm out putting rounds down range. I shot USPA at local level and have gone to the area 1 championship a couple of times, but mostly I shoot 22lr anymore with my six year old daughter.

Hello, me and the wife are getting into guns and target shooting and thought this forum looked very good with lots of traffic. Thanks

Yep, new here

Hi All,
Firearms lover since I can remember. Hunter, shooter, maker of loud noises that go bump in dark... and the light. Newly in love with the K31 and desperately in need of a bigger gun safe!

Lifelong interest in guns, shooting and outdoors. NRA Lifer, 2nd Am. supporter.

I have certain strongly held opinions about firearms and how to use them. So long as y'all remember I'm right, we'll get along fine. ;)

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Hi I am Dr NS Pandey 52 years having 22 years experience in the field of ballistic expertise in India

New guy here, but long-time shooter--competitive and recreational rifle, pistol and shotgun shooter, reloader, pro-law-enforcement, pro-citizen carry. I support harsh penalties for criminals who use firearms and the government leaving the rest of us alone. Currently have more guns than I know what to do with, from single-shot muzzle-loaders to belt-fed machine guns...but there's still room in the safe for more additions to the collection.

Goodday, I am not new to firearms or the use their of, i currently am enjoying a full range of Cz 9mm and Glock 40 cal with the Stag AR as a whole lotta of enjoyment, everyone have an excellent night,,,,,,, Wolfbane

Hi there.
Just found this place a few days ago.

I do some deer hunting (Whitetails).
Most years I manage to put some venison in the freezer.
This winter I've been doing a little competitive shooting, nothing too serious.
I was relieved when I found out the term 'shooting unsupported' doesn't necassarily refer to the attitude of your team-mates, even when you shoot poorly.
I haven't completely missed the backstop at any matches yet,

I've already had the pleasure of chatting with a few of the knowledgable members here,
who were kind enough to answer some questions I had about one of my older rifles.

Great website you guys have here!

Caddis fly is a flyfishing reference, (my other hobby).
Thanks,
Maine

Hey, ya'all! I have a variety of guns....love workin' on 'em, shooting 'em, and just the smell of Hoppes #9 excites me...Is that weird?...lol. Been in OK for about 8 years, before that I lived in Seattle, WA. Was into Black Powder for a bit and still own both a .50 and a .54. My best 2 right now are my Bushmaster Carbon 15, and my Winchester Model 70 in .270. Bought the Model 70 used. Took it apart to clean it and discovered it was already glass-bedded. I think this is gonna be a good shooter.

Hello,

live in colorado. Bird hunting and fly fishing are my two vices. Own a couple of handguns mainly for peace of mind at home and also when fishing and camping in the wilderness. We have bears here, and people that feed bears. I feel sorry for the bears. It would pain me terribly to shoot one self defense. I would rather discipline the few who needlessly provide for them.

New guy

I have come here seeking 1911 information but who knows what I will find.
So I would just like to say howdie yall and glad to be here.
