hello everyone
im derrick im 28 & im from millersburg, pa. im a christian above all else, a father of a 6yr old boy , & have loved guns & hunting from an early age, thanks to my pap. he used to take me out shootin the .22 @ like age 10 or so, then i turned 12 & he took me out hunting for deer. been fascinated with guns & huntin pretty much ever since, although there was a period of about 11 yrs where i kinda lost interest in guns & huntin ( i have no idea what came over me!!!), but last season i got the desire back. over the summer i needed a deer/bear rifle, saw a mosin at the local dunhams store, but didnt know anything about them, so i turned to the net found a site dedicated to the mosin, researched it then bought in for $80 on sale. that site also had a lot of info on other gun stuff besides mosins, & i started learning stuff about guns i didnt know that much about, while on that site i took the test & got certified a gun nut take the test yourself, you might surprise yourself:

I was looking for some good/bad info on some Hi-Point pistols being offered to me and ran across this site. Since it had so much useful info I decided to join.

I live in Southern California with my wife, two kids and a dog. I currently own a Springfield XD40. For the most part I'm really happy with it. I think my hand is to small for the grips, but that would be my only complaint. I will be picking up a new Ruger 22/45 MKIII for my wife today for a birthday gift.

I have always been around and shot guns, but recently starting buying my own. It is an addictive hobby. I think my next major purchase will be a Glock 19 or a decent 12ga Shotgun

Hi-Point

95%+ of postings I have read about Hi-Points say that consistently fire without jamming. There has been several comments that hollowpoints tend to have trouble feeding and that the topo of the magazine could use a little shaving to make feed easier on the first round. One big bonus is that Hi-Point offers a lifetime transferrable warranty so that if anything does go wrong they will fix it. Considerning the low price I think this says a lot for the faith the company has in its firearms.
Will be getting one within the next few months.

Hey guys, just introducing myself.

Been a lurker for a while, after finding this forum from people at thefiringline.com, where I've been a regular member for over a year.

I grew up with bb guns and a Marlin bolt .22lr. All other firearm knowledge and experience has been since my 20th birthday, when the hobby of shooting and firearms grabbed me and turned itself into a lifestyle for me. Now I'm an amateur skeet shooter, target shooter, desert plinker and I'll be putting in for my first deer tag this year! Also a CCW permit holder as of December.

Hi all

Salutations

I'm from Iowa and have been interested in firearms since high school, but only started actively going to the range about a year ago. In July, I plan on moving out to Denver, CO, and attend the Colorado school of Trades gunsmithing program. I own a Walther P22 Target, a Springfield XD .45 Tactical, and have a Mossberg 590 on layaway.

I'd like to have a compact 9mm, a Panther AR15, and a .357 to .44 revolver by Summer (Emphasis on "Like to"). I've also recently contacted the USPSA and plan on checking out the local division this weekend.

I am a college student in Indiana, captain of the Purdue Rifle Team. I Have an obsession with shooting .22lr bolt guns and have been known to dump 400 rounds in about 20 minutes. I also own a CZ75 which I love, an Ak47, and have ordered a K31 which gets here soon. The competition rifle I shoot is a Anschutz 1913 in a 2213 stock.

Hi, my name is Keegan. I grew up in Frankfort, KY and now live in Lexington. I love what I've read so far on this forum and could see myself sticking around here for a while. I grew up around shotguns and rifles, but didn't get my first handgun until a Ruger P85 last summer. Got my CCW soon after and a Bersa 380 to carry, though the Ruger is still my winter carry weapon. I also have a Remington 870 Express Magnum and a New Haven (Mossberg) .22 that originally belonged to my grandfather. I currently work nights at a movie store, but I'm taking the entrance exam for our PD tonight, so wish me luck!

New member here from Maryland. Stumbled across this site while looking for reloading data. Looked like a great site for all kinds of shooting related info so I signed up.

Keep up the great posts.

I stumbled across the site sometime early last year looking for info on either my USP or Mossberg 590. I'm from the suburbs of Philly, PA, but the Navy has me in the Democratic People's Republic of Kalifornistan for the 2nd time in 10 years. I really got into shooting after my command sent me to base security part-time back in 2006. Bought my first (USP) last January and my 2 latest additions are a Kimber Custom II .45ACP (Love that gun) and a Sig P229 in 40. I've checked out other sites, but I keep coming back to The High Road, and even got a few friends at work to start visiting here and going to the range.

Greetings all. I have been lurking here for about a year, thought it was time to sign up.
I have an extensive background in disaster response, missing persons and instruction in USAR, WSAR, K9 and CERT.

Hello all,
I live in north Alabama but I am not there very much because my job has me on the road most of the time. I have been shooting since I was about 12 which was a few years ago, well about 30 years ago. My main hobbies are shooting, hunting and fishing. I am lucky enough to live where my range is only a few steps from my back door. I am on a couple of other forums and have been lurking here for a while so I though I would sign up and say hi.

New Member Intro

Hello all,

I'm new here and from St. Louis Missouri...

I've been reading for a few days now and decided to do an intro... Seems like a pretty cool site... Everyone seems pretty down to earth and most Egos checked at the door...

I thought I really knew a lot about firearms as I've been around them pretty much my whole life... My father started me young teaching me about firearm safety, how to shoot Rifles and shotguns and how to hunt, but from reading this site and a few others, its a science and I have much to learn...

I plan on buying a few more books on guns, topics like Repair, gun smithing and maybe reloading... Or whatever else I find that looks interesting and helpful...

I have a small (but growing) collection that consists of:

1 Old Browning 12 Gauge semi-auto (from back when they were made in St. Louis, I think)(inherited from Grandpa)
1 old .410 Bolt action
1 old .410 pump
several old .22 pump, lever action and other weird styles (inherited from dad and uncle)
1 Mossberg 12 Gauge 500 (Short Barrel Pump)
2 Ruger 10/22s one stock and one with a few things done to it, like Bull Barrel, Hogue stock and a scope.
2 Maadi AK-47 Variants, one stock, one with a different stock and scope
1 Bushmaster AR-15 M4A3 with a few of the normal add ons
1 Glock 21
1 MAC 10 9mm Would like another in .45 to play with
1 Remington 7600 .30-06 Scopes (inherited from Grandpa)

Seems like I have two or three other things floating around here somewhere...

I'd like to add a few more to the collection...

I'd like to add a Remington 700 SPS V .308 (shot one the other day and loved it) so I ordered one yesterday from a place I read about on here called ""Mike's Guns in St. Charles", super nice guy.... I'll gladly go back...

I'd like another AR, this one set up with a target or Varmint barrel and some better glass to get out further...

I'd also like to build another 10/22 or something similar, but maybe in .17 Fireball, they seem pretty popular and fun...

When the 700 comes in, I want to save up and get a decent scope and see what I can do with it...

Damn guns are like Pringles, once you pop, you can't stop....

It P!sses the wife off, she is like don't you already have one of those.... Or, WHEN DID WE GET THAT, if I sneak one by her....

I love too shoot and talk about guns.... Right now some friends and I are looking for another a good range, even if its one we have to join...

I had a member ship @ one across the river in Illinois, but they keep closing and having legal issues, so I'm looking... We would to find a range that has pistol and some decent rifle range like 2-300 yards... I know some of you are probably way out past 5 or 600 but I need more practice and maybe some guidance... :) I'd really like to start my own range and shop one day!!!

HI all, I'm Chuck and I live in west Washington. Shoot anything I can get hold of but my collection is a mixed bag of pistols, rifles and shotguns. Pistol shooter first and formost. Reload for everything I shoot and consider that just part of the fun.

Chuck

Hi all, I'm Ivan I live in the US Virgin Islands (ST. Croix). I have been on and off this site for quite a while but I have finally decided to join . I'm into firearms for self defense , but i would like to become a gunsmith and also get my FFl . I hope with everything I learn here and from other places I can help people change their thinking about firearms, especially people where I live, you see where I live firearms are heavily restricted you have to go through a long drawn out process, that takes you through a mandatory safety clinic, then you have to submit an application to the PD which they then give you a background check (takes about a month and a half) then fingerprints , then you hope and pray that the Police Commissioner approves your application so that you then get a coupon to present to a dealer before they sell you a gun. ( Lots of fun) This needs to change..

My Personal Guns:: HK p2000sk .40 CCW

HK USP Expert .40 not so concealed carry

Rock River Arms Entry Tactical (ar15)

Benelli M4 12 ga Shotgun

What drew me to this site is all the knowledge/information that the members share with each other not just the firearm related stuff but the things that I think alot of people out there don't pay attention to, Eg. not just when to shoot but also what to do after the shooting .

Looking forward to being a part of THR Family...........Ivan.....aka.....Cruzan

Hello

I’ve been reading THR for a while now and joined afew months back. THR has always been a good place for me to stop and read-up on whatever firearms subject I’m looking into, so I finally decided to join the fray and start posting.
I live in Minnesota and enjoy going out shooting on the weekends when I can. In the summer I shoot trap and rifle. The winter is the time for me to catch up on reloading and go to the indoor pistol rangers.

Pete
