Greetings from Coastal Georgia. :D I used to have an arsenal of weapons but got rid of most of them. I now have a Sig Pro 2022 which I carry everywhere. I work in public safety, am a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and am politically a strict constitutionalist.

Hi, new member here...I've been shooting since I was a kid, and just inherited my fathers M1A he bought when in the air force. I've obsessed about it for years and finally this Christmas my dad said I should have a firearm of my own. I've read some of your forums and am really glad to hear your experience.

Hello Everybody, Just joined today and am looking forward to participating here. My interests are pretty broad when it comes to firearms. I carry a Wilson Combat .45 along with a M36 Chief Special on occasion. I'm into both pistols and revolvers, Military longarms, Civil War firearms and blades of all types. CYA around the forum!

Hey everyone. I just followed a link to this place which was posted on the Himalayan Imports' forum.

My favorite guns:

AR15 (20" barrel, I'm not a carbine fan)
1911A1 .45
AK
Browning Hi-Power

I'm even more of a knife nut, with literally hundreds of various sharp pointy objects, but my all time favorite is the Khukri.

After lurking and putting it off, I'm finally part of THR. I've been advised by several people in the Austin area, including Mike from Cabela's, my dear old Dad, and numerous acquaintances from on and off the internet to take the plunge, and given that I've finally made my first purchase (which will be showcased shortly in a Rifle forum post!) I feel that it's about time to get acquainted with the folks who know far, far more than I do.

Howdy! I recently purchased a Kimber Custom TLE-RL II and in doing research, ran across this site. I also have a Winchester M1897 shotgun and a Civil War era musket (non-firing) that I believe to be a French Delvigne. Glad to join y'all. :)

Hey everyone! I'm new here, from MA and just started shooting about a few months now. Hoping to learn alot, been lurking around and reading alot. I own a S&W 5906 9mm so feel free to PM if theres any additonal information. I'm always willing to learn more.

Hey All,
I'm a new member here,Army Vet Vietnam Era,Use to be an avid Target Shooter with long rifles, and Loved any out door sport especially hiking and camping, but 20 years ago had a bad accident that put a big damper on my life style and pocket book.I just got my CCW 6 months ago since I moved from N.Y. to Fl. selling 2 rifles out of my collection in order to purchase my first handgun a Taurus .38 ultra lite, seems I made a good choice I really like the gun although I really wanted a .45. After much thought I came to the realization being in Florida is not like N.Y. and Long Range Shooting Facilities just don't seem to be any where close to me I reluctantly sold my Rem. 700 fully dressed police sniping rifle for a Springfield .45 1911A1 Mil Tech and am in the process of getting my accessories for it ie., Holster Rig,Ammo, and deciding how I want to customize it. If some of my questions seem redundant as I come along bear with me it's been awhile since I shot handguns.I will be taking a tactical training course next month.

We're glad you found us and that you're interested in a firearms site where civil discussions are the rule instead of the exception.

If you look to the upper right of the window you'll see links to the Forum Rules, THR Library and our sister site APS (Armed Polite Society). The Rules should be obvious for anyone that's spent some time reading here, but they're always good to take a look at from time to time, the Library is a huge fixed resource of information that is always being added to, and APS is where non-gun topics are discussed (and politics). If you look to the lower left you'll see
report.gif
. If there's a problem with a post or thread just hit that and a screen pops up so you can alert the moderators of a problem in that post or thread.

The place is full of very knowledgeable people who are happy to share information. Since the doors have been open for a while now that burning question you've been waiting to ask may have already been asked and answered by an expert that is no longer with us (some of us weren't spring chickens when Oleg and Derek started THR and we sure aren't any springyer) so the search function can definitely be your friend. If you don't find it after a search don't hesitate to ask since if may be new to all of us.

Thanks for joining THR and making it one of the best firearms discussions sites around.

FNG

I'm in Oregon, disabled Navy Vet working for the VA hospital. I enjoy going shooting with my wife and kids. We also hunt, fish, and play outdoors.

Howdy - im a Danish guy (Scandinavia, Europe to the geografically challenged members :) )
Well i currently live in Sweden anyway, which has the most beautyfull blondes in the world (thats a fact :) )
Anyway im stripped of all my firearms since im currently working / living here and therefore can´t purchase anything that goes bang ;-( so now im spending all my time, searching the internet, for the best hardware, so i can invest all my hard earned $ in some top dollar guns, when i return to my own contry (hopefully soon) where i have licence for that

Just saw the navy guy Orygun writing about service, im X -army, did my TOD in bosnia back in 96, got back in one piece, but lost some good friends there to landmines...may they rest in peace.

New member! Over the past couple of years, I have been lurking the forum, and I figured I might as well sign up. There is lots of good info. here, and I look forward to more! I'm just a young buck that likes to not only shoot guns, but eventually get in to collecting.

Some of my current guns are

HK USP compact .45
Glock 26
Beneli Nova
Winchester model 94
FN PS90
AR Pistol, 10.5" 5.56
(2) 20" AR's
(2) 16" M4gerys

And the latest is a 9mm 9" (TROS) barreled AR pistol, based on an Anvil lower that is in the process of being ordered. I have a couple more, but that's the quick list. Next up I will be buying classics!

Newby Here

Long time gun lover and researcher, short time shooter. Don't claim to know everything but I beg to find a worthy opponent to talk 1911's, other models I have much to learn. I’ve read a lot of BS about a lot of pistols and the 1911 is the subject to talk about for obvious reasons. This is my second forum membership, plan to talk them all up and see what I can learn.

Hey there, im new to owning a few types of guns, but i've always been a shotgun enthusiast. Im now trying to get as many of the evil "assault weapons" as an 18 year old student considering ROTC's budget would allow. Im mostly into guns for the political reasons and the self-defense reasons, and also the fact that guns are fun to shoot! Im from the Midwest, Im a country boy trapped in a city boy's body as many would say in these suburban college town's parts.

Hi everybody!

I signed on in December and I figured it was about time to introduce myself. I have gleaned information from the highroad for a while now, and I finally decided to join in and participate. I'm self employed as a custom holster maker, and I work part time building tack and equipment. Last August was when I first decided to pursue holster making full-time, and now I spend most of my time working towards getting my business off the ground. To wind down, I enjoy shooting, martial arts, and the occasional video game. I look forward to learning from you folks. I'll do y best to return the favor.

FNG says hey

newbie on the road

Hey what's up everyone. I have visited this site from time to time to get feedback on firearms before purchase. decided it was time to join. I have been shooting for about 20 years of so. I focus mainly on recreational shooting, and personal defense. I never really got into hunting rifles. I like handguns, combat rifles, and shotguns (homeland defense weapons). I currently carry a kahr 9mm, but also have a tactical ak-47, and a tactical remington 870.

Hey guys. I am an 8th grader. Am a gun nut(in the good way) and decided it was time to join this forum (which is one of the best.) I like weight lifting, playing guitar, and want to go into firearms engineering and designing someday. Also ROTC through the US Marines.

I found this site while searching for information on a friend's M14 and was so impressed by how well people acted I thought I would like to join as well. I am 51, live in St. Louis Missouri and have been into guns all my life. I used to teach Industrial Arts so I really like to manufacture firearms and enjoy studying how they work. I collect firearms and cartridges and have a CCW and C&R. There seems to be some great people on this site and I hope I can contribute in a positive way.

I figured I should probably go ahead and introduce myself so he goes. My name is Nick Barber and I am currently in Michigan. I work as an school teacher (history) and have always had a love of guns. I tend to shoot mostly black powder and military surplus (espcially like the old russian stuff) but also play around a bit with hand guns and such. Along with the gun thing I run a Boy Scout Camp in the summer with a very active shooting sports program.
