I'm a new gun owner having purchased my first firearm just a few months ago. Growing up in Arizona I've spent a lot of time outdoors backpacking, fishing, hunting, but I've never owned my own rifle. When I turned 18 I began saving up for my first gun which wound up being a Rem 700 SPS, my first hunting gun that I own. Since then I've purchased a Ruger 10/22 and have been given two other 22 rifles from my grandfather (a Remington 582 and an unidentified Remington pump). My latest addition is a CZ 75 9mm compact my dad bought for me, it's my first handgun and I'm in love. This forum always has the most interesting and informative discussions so I decided to join. Glad to be with you all.

Revron!

I am new to this site, I am a hunter and I love to shoot guns. I've read some postings and i like the solid info and opinions, look foward to a lot more.

Howdy,
I'm a long-time shooter who is starting to get back into collecting firearms after refusing to due to living in New Jersey for too long!! I shoot a variety of guns, prefer the 1911, and am looking to get more into long-guns. Looking forward to learning as much as I can, and hope to contribute something as well.
dryft.

Hey guys, KyRock. As you can guess I am from Kentucky. Never really been heavy into guns. Rather I have been into Bows. I have always have a some shotguns, and a .22 marlin lr that I've had since a youth. A couple years ago, my youngest son wanted a rifle. I ended up getting him a Rossi 20 gauge / .243 combo. We put a little Barski Scope on the rifle and sighted it in. Now I am hooked. Everyone complained about these little rifles, but this thing has been a jewel. My son can drive nails at 200 yards. He also is a deadly on the clays shooting the 20 gauge.

Back in the early 90's I bought a Traditions Kentucky Rifle kit. Done a lousy job on the wood work, but the thing shot fine. Here of late I have taken a interest in the thing, have started redoing everything, and if I have to say so myself, it is looking pretty good.

I bought my son his first pistol this past Christmas. The shop owner talked me into buying a Heritage Rough Rider .22 cal. The has shot it quite a bit, and have to say that this gun has been a dandy so far.

I also have some shotguns that were handed down to me, my favorite being a model 370 Winchester 20 gauge. Same gun my dad let me first hunt rabbits with.

I hope to purchase more as the pocket book allows. Love this forum so far. I am sure I will be asking you guys a lot of questions.

Hi my name is Kurt. My father passed away in 2009 and left me an array of guns. Several of which have all of the reloading supplies and cases dies etc. I have a no real use for these weapons and am looking for advise on where I would put such items up for sale. I have a quigley rifle 45-100 and a 40 65 both have all of the reloading supplies and shells. I know the worth of them but am not looking to make a killing but I would ike to get close to what they are worth. If any one has some advice for me I am not trying to sell them here just trying to get advice as to where I could sell them legally and not loose my butt on them.

I'll be short; I'm not that into guns, in that I don't really intend to have a collection, but since most of the info I found when looking for some pieces seemed to come from here, I figured I'd join. I've shot a few rifles as a teen a few times, and a friend took me shooting her own stuff a while back, so I picked up a M91 Mosin for myself at that point. I'm 25, a student, and an amateur photographer (and like for guns, I'm also not a gear whore, since I only own two or three lenses at any given time), so I'm sort of perpetually broke.

I mostly don't care for politics here, or the political aspects of gun control, because knowing the history of such, I have little intent to deal with the bull**** on all sides, and I'm convinced all sides are wrong in whole or in part (especially when it gets into the right vs. left problem, in which case people on both sides happily blame the other side for gun control while implementing their own version of it, so yeah).

I am Mario. I have inmersed myself in guns five years ago and have built my first 1911, ar-15. I am trying to start reloading. I have 9mm, 40sw, .45acp, 6.5 grendel, .223 rem, 7.62x39, etc.

Hello from the misguided State of California

Hello there,
I've just recently become interested in firearms. Joined NRA about a year ago and have been researching the whole wonderful thing - taking my time. Through motorcycling I learned that it's best to do it the right way from the beginning or suffer the embarrassment (or worse).
We have a nice 1911 Remington-Rand and an Army carbine passed down from my wife's father but I will soon be looking to purchase my first new handgun. Probably starting with a .22 of some sort.
Cheers,

GA Boy

..You Asked.

Well, as you know.. All the cool names were taken, because you probably have one. :p - gotta throw in a face.. everyone's doin' it.
Been a long time lurker on some other forums, but this seems to be the most helpful, and the least frustrating. I look forward to contributing with what little help i can bring to the table, and conversing with the genuine members in here.

Olá

Hello everyone, my name is Junior 36 years and I really like guns, I have some special and a Smith & Wesson.
Despite being very new here in the forum, I've read some interesting things that I liked very much!

Greetings Everyone,

I am new here. I spend a large amount of time working online and have decided I need to get re-acquainted with fun. I used to love to do everything outdoors and have always been interested in the shooting sports.

I am 59 and live in Indianapolis, IN.

Hello from Virginia! I like to collect and shoot older military rifles. I recently purchased a Japanese Arisaka in 7.7 and am thinking about doing some reloading for it, as well as for a 7.5 Schmidt-Rubin K31 rifle. Glad I stumbled on this forum! I am also active in the Virginia Citizen's Defense League promoting gun right's in the commonwealth.

Hi, I am Ema from Vermont. I don't have any guns but my father has a rifle. He's teaching me how fire a rifle. We have a lesson tomorrow. :D

New guy here, just picked up my first handgun in Jan, Springfield 1911A1 GI Spec, spent 24 years in the Navy retired 5 years ago and decided it was time to pick up my first handgun. I missed going to the range and shooting which I did throughout my military career. Hence the first handgun is a 1911A1 GI Spec! Located in the Florida panhandle near Pensacola, picked up my CCP and picked up a Ruger LC9 for that and also have a Browning Buckmaster which is a nice target pistol! Thanks, Jefe

Hello from up north.

I joined earlier this month after being led to the forum from another site. Very impressed with the tone of THR and the general civility. I grew up in the country and was blessed with a father ( an Ozark quail hunter) who supported my interest in firearms. I am an old-timer now and I like to boast that I was one of the last to qualify (expert) with the M1 Garand before the switch to the M-14. I just took a serious interest in deer hunting and at the ripe age of 73 I took my first buck this past November. A beautiful 10 -pointer! Used a T/C Black Mountain Magnum .50 cal. (sidelock). None of those fancy in-lines for me. I own a number of guns running in value from a few thousand to a $285 Handi-Rifle (.45-70) which I describe as a "hardware store" rifle because it reminds me of the rough-edged single shots I used to see at the local hardware store selling for $39.95 when I was a kid. But you know what? That thing is a blast to shoot and reload for. Want some real fun? Put your high-end stuff aside for awhile and get a "Handi"! There is a real cult following around that cheap source of shooting enjoyment. Thanks THR!

new guy

Hi all Im a new member and wanted to intro myself to you Im into shooting and hunting. I grew up in Wisconsin but now live in CA hope to learn a thing or two from here:D

Hello all

I have been reading this site for a little while and decided it was time to join. I'm Matt and while I'm a little younger than most all the people on the site, I'm working very hard to fill any gaps in my knowledge of all things firearms (including the legal aspect). I plan on joining the armed forces when it becomes possible for me (They don't really accept 15 1/2 year olds) and collect firearms when thats legal for me as well. While I don't own any firearms I am not a stranger to them and have fired a few. Also, I really appreciate the clean manner in which the forum is run.

-Matt
