Hi. Have been lurking since September. Been an avid shooter and reloader for about the last 35 years. Dabble in swaging. Reload for most common rifle and all common pistol calibers. Glad to be a part of your community.

I am a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Air Navy in Danang, Oson, Korea, NAS Agana Guam, USS Constellation and Imperial Beach, California from 1968 to 1973. I worked twenty eight years with a Municipal Police Agency in North Louisiana. I have been hunting since I was old enough to carry my grandfathers Model 12. I miss those long coon hunts at night with my grandfather and his black and tans/redbone hounds. I collect guns and pocket knives and can't understand why in the world anyone would not have a weapon in their home to protect themselves and their family. It just doesn't make sense to me why anyone would want to take my weapons from me, especially after being a witness to so many homicides of innocent citizens who were unarmed while working as an Investigator for ten years.

I am retired now and spending time teaching my grandson how to shoot his BB gun.

Greetings...I'm Ken from West Tennessee. I have been into guns since I was 10 years old. Guess that makes 43 years now. I am a local LEO and a firm believer in the right to bear arms. I have recently began to prep for the future as many of us have.

I love my handguns and rifles...Think I might fit in here.

Thanks for having me. Should have joined THR long ago. The names Erik. Active in PA gun politics and local organizations and clubs. Primarily interested in EBR's and maintaining our right to own them.

Hi Justin and Other

I am mostly looking at home defense and disaster planning and prep.
I do disaster planning for computer and data as a profession with my company I head.
I come from a long line of hunters but really haven't done much since I was young. Mostly looking at getting our CCW and preparing for a possible time to come where we will need to fend for ourselves.
Have already found lots of interesting stuff as a guest now wish to join the overall discussion and ask a few question of my own!
Looking forward to finding other opinions.

Hey guys, I'm a new gun owner, and The High Road was instrumental in leading me to the gun that was right for me, which ended up being a Remington 870 Express 26", which I love. The forum was so helpful that I decided to sign up.

I do have one question: how do you start a new thread?

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!

Hello everyone.

I am a firearm enthusiast that supports all aspects of freedom. I started shooting pellet guns at a young age. I quickly moved on to .22 rifles. My father is a hunter so I grew up around his various wood rifles and a small buckmark handgun. I hunt white tail and mule deer yearly. I will always hunt but now I am more interested in semi auto rifles and handguns.

I am a member of various firearm and wildlife organizations. I frequently send letters to our politicians and donate. Over the last few years I have realized how important firearm ownership is. We need to stand together or North America will fall.

Hello all,

New guy checking in from beautiful Colorado. Really like the amount and quality of information on here.

Hola from South Texas... antique Viet Nam vet here, G/2/5 in the Que Son valley '68 - '69. My scoutmaster got me interested in shooting; I reloaded my first .30-'06 round on a Lyman 310 as a junior in high school - can't seem to quit ! The name of this site seems to accurately describe the "caliber" of folks here - looking forward to talking to y'all.

Another Newbie

New to this forum, I have been shooting BP since 1988. My daughter and I were active in Living History, did Rendezvous, pre-1840 stuff. I made our cloths, guns and other accouterments as at this time this stuff was not available. Keith Casteel taught me to build rifles, but cannot afford to build them now. I hunt with a 50 cal. flintlock. Just recently purchased a TC scout in .50 also built a .45 Hopkins Allen under hammer which I have not used. I just enjoy the old stuff, definitely makes hunting or even hitting a paper target more of a challenge. Get allot of flinch practice ;)

Hey everybody, Seems like every time I do a Google search on something that interest me, it always leads me to THR. Figured I better just join and get it over with. I'm a 34 year old male from Illinois interested in prepparing for an uncertain future. I've been in a wheelchair all of my life, but still get out there aand get it done when it comes to hunting ,fishing, camping, and survival stuff. Glad to be part of this thing now.

I'm a fairly new hunter and a first-year reloader. Killed a couple of nice bucks this season with bullets I loaded for my K31. Have also hunted successfully (handloads and factory loads) with my Swedish Mauser. I get a lot of good information from this forum, so finally decided to join. Thanks!

Hey everybody! My name is Ryan I am new to the shooting sport. I am 19 (20 in May) and only got involved in shooting about a year ago when I took an NRA Basic Pistol Course through my American Criminal Justice Association Club at the college I go to. After that course I loved shooting so much that I am actually trying to create a college team, and I became a Certified Assistant NRA Instructor.

I am planning on trying to compete in some competitions this season, most likely some plate shoots or maybe some IDPA matches. Unfortunately, I am not old enough to own my own pistol yet but as soon as I turn 21 the application for my permit will be sent in and hopefully I can buy my own a short while afterward. Luckily I made friends with my NRA instructor who is willing to shoot competitions with me so I can stay active in the sport.

I go to school at the University of New Haven and live in Charlton, Massachusetts. I look forward to learning as much information as possible from this forum.

Hi Folks! I'm from Kansas and shot a lot as a young man and then got out of it. My wife got me back into it and I am having a great time with it. Want to get into reloading and have just started armoring.

Still have my first rifle, Winchester 270 pump action, which I am restoring. My next project is my Grandfather's 410 single shot.

Looking forward to learning more about others likes and dislikes.
