Looking for opinions.
I have been working on a see thru scope mount for the 91/30 round receiver Mosin Nagant for Months!
This mount will have 4 holes in the receiver, 3 on top and 1 on the side, all 6-48, and I am trying to design it to be easily drilled and tapped by home shop or gunsmith to reduce cost of installation.
I have about 300 rounds testing so far, using a BSA contender 6-24x44 scope, I wanted to make sure it will support a big / heavy scope.
Making final tweaks for range test 4 soon.
Please let me know what you think?

The bolt handle is ATI, ground down on top, but I am waiting for a Max Shepherd low profile bolt handle and if it is as good as I hear I will be recommending that handle.
The Rail is EGW, modified for see thru and attachment to the base.
These pics don't show the rear side hole into the receiver, that's getting done this week prior to next test.

looks good, ease of mounting and durability will determine how good it actually is but so far looks awesome!

Thanks, a lot of hours and pain and sweat in this one.
I'm thinking about doing an install video on #2, maybe live fire too.
Thanks again.

Never been a fan of see through mounts of any kind as there is no way to get any kind of cheek weld on the stock and your head is just floating around behind the scope trying to get a good sight picture ...I would rather have a LER scout mount that replaces the rear sight or just the regular iron sights for the mosin

I think it's perfect! Looks awesome, seems like solid mount points too. Suggestion would be trying differing types of scopes on it just to make sure the see-through part still works...

great job though.

Thanks for all the kind words.
Planning on next test this week, 100 yards max on my range.
Last test it shot a 3" group of 20 rounds, but that was before adding the 3rd, rear, screw in the receiver.

Yes, I would recommend adding an adjustable cheek rest.

The way I designed this, I could make it see thru or not, so why not add the option? I am a firm believer in iron sights and not trusting all to any optic.

Also, this is a working test prototype, the production parts will look nicer.

I agree on trying different scopes, a 50mm may block the iron sight, I will find out and let you know.

Thanks again guys.
