I am getting down to crunch time. I should be receiving my CWP any day and need to actually get the gun.
The short list:
HK USP Compact 9mm (OWB carry)
CZ P01 9mm (OWB carry)
Dan Wesson CBOB .45 ACP (IWB carry)
Browning Hi-Power 9mm (IWB/OWB carry)
Honorable mentions:
Sig P232 .380 (OWB carry)
Sig P238 .380 (OWB carry/pocket)
CZ-83 .380 (OWB carry)
CZ 2075 RAMI BD 9mm (OWB carry/pocket)
I really have no qualms about carrying 9mm over .45 acp with the +p hollow points available. .380 is my minimum caliber requirement, but this guns are attractive because of their small size. I live in FL an summers are hot. As for the honorable mentions- it seems to me that both CZs get the nod over the Sigs for cartridge capacity (CZ-83 has 12 to the Sig P232's 7, and P238's 6; the RAMI is 14 rounds of full size 9mm). The 'Dark Horse' is the Dan Wesson; the HK USP is almost surgical in how sterile and unexciting it is- but it is a near flawless option. The CZ P01 fits like a glove.
What do you guys think? I need to find a carry gun and would love to hear some opinions of some real owners.
