New Sig P 365, looks interesting

You are suggesting using a traditional shooting grip with your trigger hand, and then gripping an extended magazine with your other? With a Glock?

I guess I'm a little thick, but I fail to see how that kind of ridiculous shooting grip, or Glocks in general would be relevant to the Sig 365 discussion. If all you wanted to say was people with larger hands may find a larger gun to be a better choice, I get it, but the rest of your post sounds bizarre. Can you post a picture of the shooting grip you are trying to describe?

I like stick magazines for range use. I'm right handed, therefore right hand on pistol grip left hand holds onto long magazine "tube". Not hard concept to visualize.

I have to admit, I have never seen anyone shoot that way in my entire life.

Got this link via some daily email I get, at the moment, I do forget what org actually sent it out. But, part way down, there is a shadow of the p365, and they used an outline of several other sub-compacts, in different colors. They lined up the muzzles, and the bore-axis. I've been very happy with my Shield for CC, but just looking at the dimension differences, I am SUPER intrigued. I will try to attach a copy of that image to this post.

here is the image that shows this. I hope my upload skills work OK.

Also, currently saw that Brownells is offering a pre-order for $499. I have also seen them on Gunbroker for a 'buy it now' price of $899, so some of the early folks to get one are clearly just trying to use the hype to make a fast few bucks.

Yea, but that isn't what the thread is about, it's about a new small carry gun. Play toys with long super long mags is another topic. I reckin that's the point.

EXACTAMUNDO!

Moving on.

I find the outline images interesting. It looks like my XDs is a bit larger and several ounces heavier. And it holds fewer rounds.

The XDs isn't likely to get sold, because it's a 45, but the 365 may come home with me at some point. It just needs to fit my hand. Considering my hand size though, I'm guessing it'll be too small.

I actually saw and TOUCHED a Sig P365 at a local gun show. My impressions are the gun is small, a little smaller than a Glock 43, maybe too small. 10 rounds is certainly a plus. I was not impressed with the quality of the gun. IMO Sigs made in US are not close to the old German quality. I will let others beta test for a few months. The sights seemed OK like the night sights on a FNs. The trigger is OK, better than a Glock out the box. To the gentleman selling the guns credit he had it priced at $599. the MSRP. He said he had only 1 or 2 however by mid day on Saturday he had not sold one.
My question is who are the fools paying $700. for a P365 on Gunbroker?

Is it really as thin in the grip as advertised?

How about the trigger pull? Light? Heavy" Rough? Smooth?

Trigger I thought was pretty good. I'm not a huge striker fired fan, but I like the 320 a lot and this felt pretty similar.

Danez71 asks:

What kind of safeties does it have?

I don't see anything built into the trigger and don't see any kind of thumb saftey either.

In the video in post 37, the reviewer describes the trigger beginning at the 2:50 mark. His sample had about a seven-pound trigger, and he says that "this gun does not have a manual safety; the safety's in the trigger." I can't tell if he means it has a trigger "dingus" (I can't see one in the video) or if he's simply referring to the effort required to pull it.

So... this new Sig is just under 1” width at the widest portion of the grip. I put the calipers on my Shield 9mm today. Stand by for a picture attempt.

The Shield is less than .04” slimmer than the P365.

I’m now EXTREMELY interested in this new Sig.

People that are getting them are now comparing it the the Kahr PM9 which is my go to semi EDC. I am a NRA RSO/instructor and got at the time a great deal on my PM9 with factory night sights at about $475 and this was about 8-10 years ago. This Sig looks like it is just a bit heavier with almost exactly the same dimensions. I love the fact it could replace my Sig M11A1 that IWB carry when I have my grandkids with me. The extra rounds in the same size makes this gun very appealing to me over my much loved PM9. I have a P365 on order with my local LGS right now.

Finally saw one in person at my LGS. My first impression was 'that's small!'

It *seems* even smaller than the G43 I'd brought to shoot at their range when you come upon it in a case filled with guns, IMHO. Assuming these work OK, I'm going to get one; 3-4 rounds extra in a mini-gun is too much of an advantage.
