Anyone see the new Sig 365?

Saw this on another forum, pictures comparing the P365 to the P938 (which I have been carrying daily for the last 3+ years). Looks like no safety, not even the Glock-style pseudo-safeties that they put on their triggers. Isn't that the same as the P320, or do they have a trigger safety, I can't remember.

Okay, now I'm interested. I very much hate how long the grip is on P938 front-to-back and this one promises to be significantly shorter. I noticed that you have no problem carrying P938, and it works for many, but everyone's hands are different.

The 320 doesn't have a bladed trigger. One of the main reasons I find it so comfortable to shoot.

If this thing has a reputation for running well I'll definitely be getting one. The more I see the more interested I am.

I have no clue what that means.

To clarify, I own zero articles of clothing, be it business, casual, formal or even sweats that i cannot easily conceal a Glock 26.

I need nothing smaller or thinner.
I find that running the cursor to the emoji and leaving it there will provide a translation.

Local dealer has one for $569 which is nuts. Mags are $50 per SIG.

The price of pistol is basically G43 plus quality night sights which is ok. The magazine should be about $25.
If I didn't own G26 and needed carry gun I would buy this. The cost of gun plus extra mag holster and cost of defensive ammo to make sure gun is reliable would be about $750. I pass.

Id like to see side by side comparison pics of this next to a PPS. I mean its sounding lije the Sig is going to be the size of a single stack but with 10 rds.

I just got an email from sig, they came out with a 10+1 round 9mm pistol for around 6 hundred bucks.
"Introducing the game changing P365 High-Capacity Micro-Compact. The revolutionary new concealed carry pistol that gives you more capacity, more concealability and more capability. It’s the one gun you can carry every day of the year.

Look like a winner in the link, thanks for sharing it.

As I wrote they SHOULD cost about $25 each.
There's a couple ways that you could mean that sentence and I thought that you meant the former (meaning that's what they'll probably cost).

It sucks that they charge that much for mags but that's the way Sig is.

No manual safety on a gun people are likely to pocket carry that has a "clean, crisp" trigger.

Yep. Sounds real safe. I'll never understand the opposition to manual safeties.

"But pocket holster!"
Congratulations, you've just added bulk to a pocket gun and made it take up roughly the same space as my Px4 Subcompact (which I do pocket carry safety on, hammer down).

"Taking off the safety wastes valuable time in a self defense scenario!"

So does unholstering your pistol. Surely some of you gents know what I'm talking about

wow, I was waiting to see some side by side comparisons of common handguns. Guess their specs aren't exaggerating, with this, I am highly interested in purchasing this, aside from sudden horror stories of unreliability or something like that.

This could be the one to beat in the small IWB/Larger pocket pistol column.

So, a Glock 26 is only 18/100 of an inch thicker, has a shorter grip, holds just as many rounds, has a proven record since 1994, has an immense aftermarket, is cheaper, magazines cost half as much, and can use Glock magazines of any capacity. Oh, and it has a longer barrel too which could be a positive or a negative. I have never been much of a fan of the Glock 26 but it seems kind of amusing that people are calling this SIG "game changing". The Sig is lighter and far more attractive but that is about it.

True but they do have decent sales. Wait for one.
Yeah, but still...a lot of gun manufacturers sell their mags for a little over $20. Usually around $22-$23.

$45-$50 is ridiculous for a single mag. Sure there are sales, but then it's $40 instead of $49.99. Still not as good as $22 Glock mags or $24 mags from Mec-Gar (CZ, BHP etc).

Pretty much my only gripe.

This is totally correct, but why would you settle for a Glock 26, when you could carry a Glock 17? It's just as thin, the grip is only a little bit longer, and you get seven more rounds. Plus the Glock 17 has had a proven record since 1982. Any aftermarket accessories available for the G26 are available for the G17. I don't even know why Glock makes the 26 when the 17 is its equal or superior in virtually every way.

Didn't like the sound of 9/50ths of an inch? Just kidding

Anyways, yeah I see where you are coming from but to be honest, there are so many guns that are relatively close in size that I personally have carried, and IWB, a marginal difference makes a world of change. A lot of times, just the shape of a firearm will cause one to feel better IWB or in a pocket than a different gun of equal measurements. This is the whole cause for the market with single stack carry guns right now. This one happens to be the same size as those in the single stack category, but with higher capacity. So yeah, it's a bit intriguing.

Yep, why I carry a Glock 17. :D

Unless I carry a 26.

The 19 is the oddball out for me.

I will likely handle one at one point but for folks with fat hands like me a lot of the single stacks are just too thin to shoot comfortably.

I do know that a relative of mine is REALLY exciter for this one as he prefers the thinner grips.

Wonderful that there are so many options these days!

18/100 = 9/50 = ~3/16" = 16% thicker

If I had the choice between the same capacity and 3/16" thinner I'll take the thinness for concealed carry if everything else is within reason (price, ergonomics, shoot ability, fit for my hand). Thinness at least for me along with grip length are the two largest contributors to printing. Magazine cost has little effect on my decision making on a CCW, if the Sig 365 comes with two the most I would buy is probably 2 more, it's not like I need a whole bunch of magazines for a CCW, a few extra (which is a luxury) to make range time quicker is all.

But your argument is sound if one doesn't mind a thicker CCW then the G26 is a good option, but so is the S&W compact, Ruger Compact, Walther's new compact, H&K Compact, Berettas, etc., all which hold similar amount of cartridges and spitting distance in size of each other. I think what Sig did with the 365 (at least on paper, I haven't seen or compared in person) is something that has not been done before in a grip frame of 1" in width, so the term "game changer" is a little bit over the top, but not far off.

I don't think I'm one to go out and buy one as I'm completely happy with my Walther PPS M2 for that role but it would be nice to have an additional 3 rounds in the same size package but not worth enough for me to spend the money, at least at this time.

Well, I gave thinner smaller guns a look and just have not found one that justifies the trade-off of fire power and shoot ability for size. I bought an LCP to carry in shorts and t-shirt weather but gave up on it when I realized I could still easily conceal the G23 in that attire. That and the LCP sucked for my hands and I have felt the same with the G42 and 43, just too little to hold on to. I’m sure this Sig will fit the hand better than those mentioned but my lack of intelligence means that I intend on figuring out how to carry a G19X.

This Sig is a really nice looking gun and has the added bonus that it is a Sig. I just wish tiny guns came with tiny prices.
