i just wanted to ask what some of yall thought of nutnfancy, ive started watching his videos a lot lately and seems to know a bit about guns and knives and stuff. he seems pretty well educated on the different guns and knives he reviews, though not nearly as technical as some reviewers on all details...

more over i notice some things he says on equipment i own i can agree on and some thing i dont....why do so many people on the internet disqualify his reviews because he chooses to remain anonymous and post videos on youtube, but qualify written and video reviews by magazine staff and the like because they put their names on in and are allegedly professionals? i find magazine reviewers are just as at odds with me on gear, and just as likely to stay too vague on technical details and only mention hos the gun shot to THEM...

its all opinion so whats all the hate towards one guy and not the others

Like you, I agree and disagree with him. I think he is doing a great service by getting some of this stuff out there. Bottom line is that he is offering his opinion. I don't think that he is setting himself up as some end-all be-all of gun and tactical equipment reviews. It's one man's point of view and if he gets you thinking about what he has said then I think he has done his job.

I have watched a ton of his videos, I like the guy, he is a bit quirky and some of his reviews are long winded but overall I look forward to any new video he puts out. As for why people dislike him, well it is the internet...if you have an opinion on something and make a video about it, there simply will be people that disagree, and when you couple that with the anonymity of the internet you get haters.

With every thing in life there is always someone who is a "hater". He has some good information, but he also is pretty biased even though he says he isn't or isn't trying to be. For example: he compare 9mm's to .40's and says the 9mm wins because it holds more rounds. He is extremely hardcore for 9mm, but he still tries out other rounds and says their praises, but does some unfair comparisons.

For rifles he is pretty okay.

His main pet peeve is weight. A good thing to consider but 1 pound to him on a rifle is rather unacceptable to him it seems. Especially when it comes to DI vs Piston.

Overall, I like watching his videos. I never base a purchase solely off what he says though. Like every other reviewer on the internet, take it with a grain of salt, your own experience, and plenty of research.

Edit: He is also long winded. But there is usually some good info in there some where. One reason I do like him is beause he doesn't take himself too seriously.

His gear reviews can be pretty decent, long but pretty decent. I would recommend at least skimming them if you are thinking about purchasing something he reviews.

His rhetoric is simply annoying. I don't want one of his "sheep dogs" protecting me with his Glock, no thanks go play solider somewhere else. He also teaches a lot of fear, which is a shame because a lot of kids look up to him and start doing silly things like carrying knives.

His run and gun's are lame, Ted from New Zealand showed him how it was done while he was in this country with a Bren gun and a full auto Colt M4, not a stupid duracoated Ruger.:neener::D

He will spend 15 minutes talking about nothing before he even picks up the gun. Obsesses over tiny weight amounts. And nothing will ever be as worthy as his Glock which was handed down to him by the giant "sheep dog" in the sky.
I mainly watch him because he shows things with a high definition camera.

Most of his videos can be cut to about 25% of their original length without loosing much content.

i like his enthusiasm he does just say what he thinks, he thinks highly of sig and glock but so do i theyre proven from like what early 80s! other than cz and colt i cant think of any pistol company putting out reliable autoloaders back then and thats one reason i own glocks cuz it aint for beauty...

i just dont get why gun mag reviewers get called right and him wrong, personally id rather watch one of his videos on a gun than read an article based solely on the fact ive never read a bad review on a gun in mags, whether because they dont make good reading or because the magazines are paid off with endorsements from manufactures, truthfully idc...

yea he may be long winded but getting to all the points sure makes it easy for me to write down things i need to know more about on something, whether he says its good or bad when he says it 20 times i check into it lol

glad to know im not crazy for thinking hes a decent guy, im def gonna go check out some more of his vids despite what haters say, maybe send them some salt for when they watch him

edit: i dont think he instills fear into kids so they start carrying knives, but if he does within a week theyll realize carrying a knife is more useful for cutting their sandwich and opening letters, most kids with a knife who get into a dangerous situation probably wont have the constitution or mental processes to deploy their knife and fight, their fight or flight will kick in the latter being stronger and theyll run

I think everyone has their own style and we can learn from each other. So take the stuff that makes sense to you and leave the stuff that doesn't. I've seen all of his video's and I feel I have learned quite a bit. I can't say I agree with everything but I think of learning things from others points of views does have it's advantages even if you don't agree.

Pikid89, I think you are right.

To people who hate it, if you don't like his stuff, don't watch it, or just selectively watch it. I agree he's long winded and throws personal opinions in, but he also includes good info and can also be entertaining at times.

It's nothing I can't hear from the local OPERATORS OPERATING at my local tacticool gunstop.

That whole "Sheepdog" concept makes me want to hurl. I haven't heard such complicated, serious concepts romanticized in a long time.

I do think Nutnfancy has some good reviews but of course I do not agree with him on everything. I think he makes his video so long to try to cover absolutely everything because if he forgets one little detail he will get many comments about it.

I have two major praises for him:

1) He is thorough. When he does do a review of something, he gets it all in there. It may be as long as an old tooth, but it's in there somewhere. He knows what he is talking about.

2) He has quite a cool setup for training and testing, he calls it the "Nutnfancy Project." Watching some drills he's recorded can refresh your memory on some things, for me in particular advancing on a target while engaging.

I have two major critiques of Nutnfancy.

1) He tries to cram way too much information into too little of time. He stretches a 3 minute discussion into 45 minutes. I find myself skipping through his videos trying to find the information. I like his information, but man... sometimes I wish he would just say the stats. :p

2) He is more of a "tactical-minded" guy and he does seem to act aloof to the "average gun owner." But, this could easily be explained away as "if you're not tactical-minded, Nutnfancy isn't for you."

I don't know any background on the guy, except he works in LEO in some aspect and had some Air Force time (and that may even be incorrect.) Oh, and he lives in Utah.

I watched a few of his reviews... snore. He likes to talk a lot, but I really don't get much out of it. If you were brand new to guns he would be pretty cool. I do like all the high def footage he gives. If I was interested in buying something I would watch the video not so much to hear him talk, as to take a gander at what he is viewing.

I stopped watching at one of his Run and Gun videos... It made me think of.. well a bunch of staff officers trying to do something they saw a bunch of the combat guys doing once. Yawn.. But hey, if it's interesting to you then have at it. He does bring up some good points, and he is quite in depth. It's good "from one gun guy to another" advice.. I wouldn't take any tactical advice from him though.

I like the Guy, I think he's got something interesting to say the majority of the time, and he does tend to cover ALL the bases in his video's, making them run a little long for some people.

I don't agree with the earlier comment about his Run and Gun video's, I bet he does it better than 90% of the people on here.

I also tend to agree with his "sheepdog" term, FAR to many people in this country are sheep, I call them lemmings, but sheep does fit. Per that comment I only have one thing to say, Get your heads outta the mud, and wake the hell up! :banghead:

He gives alot of first hand information in his videos and information is never a bad thing, whether you or I agree with it or not.

He needs to find a gun he doesn't like and do a video on it in order to get some credibility. So far every gun I have seen him talk about is piece of perfection. They can't all be the finest gun ever made.
