Hey all been around the forum for Looong time finally registered...
Latest build is an Aero Precision 308 in battle rifle config.
-Aero Precision M5E1 complete upper, Aero/BA 16" CMV barrel (mid length), 15" Mlok handguard.
-Aero Nickle Boron BCG
-Aero 308 Ambi Charging Handle
-Magpul MOE pistol grip
-Fab Defense Butt Stock
-Elftman AR10 Adjustable Trigger
-Aero Precison Ultra Light 30mm scope mount
-Trijicon Credo HX264 1x6 LPVO W/308 Caliber BDC reticle, single 2MOA illuminated red dot and etched BDC reticle.
-Slate Black Industries Thumb stop
-Bravo Company Mlok grip panels (swapped for SBI ones to drop 1.5oz)
-CGS Hyperion K Ti Suppressor (in jail still)
-Odin Works Extended Mag Release
Plan to Add:
-Weapon Light (Looking for main advice here, also anywhere is welcomed)
-Sling
-Larue Picatiny rail covers. Aero Pic rail sharp as hell and they have several cable management also.
Bare rifle weighs 7lb 9oz, 9lb 6oz with LPVO/Mount, thumb stop and BC rail grips installed. Once Suppressor is installed will be at 10lbs 2oz. Then just need a weapon light which is MY MAIN QUESTION HERE, which is lightest option? I could swap out the Aero barrel/Ballistic Advantage weighing 36oz and gain several OZ with a Faxon or something. Also the BCG weighs 19oz and there are lighter options but durability is factor along with weight. So if there is a lightweight yet durable BCG option I'm open to suggestions. Parts always
Have a 5.56 10.3 SBR with Red dot suppressed for ultra CQB or give to the wife. The 308 is my go to main girl Love me some 150 grain impact!
Another question: And forgive my ignorance: Does a Radian safety fit an Aero M5 Lower? Looking at them or the Elftman speed type push safety. I have short yet stocku hands and a push button that moves with a flick seems very appealing. But Radian gets TONS of love.
Can upload pics once I learn how...
