Mil spec 9mm isn't steel cased. The debate on steel is not new. But why test your own Beretta for longevity the way even the military doesn't.

Where exactly did I mentioned steel cased 9x19 military ammo? Steel vs brass is an old debate starting from the days when internal extractors were the norm. And I think that even then it was more a myth then a reality. In a controlled feed pistol the extractor just doesn't stress that much, or have such impact on the case as push feed designs. Add to that the soft and lacquered steel case and you have a non existing problem. I personally have shot many steel cased ammo thru various pistols without any ill effects. But the Internet is a great place for rumors that just refuse to die.
