LOL its all good Joe
ya about the only accurate copys Pietta makesare the steel frame models
Colt did not make brass frames nor did Remington.
no southern makers made exact copys of the colts with brass frames but there were five makers that made iron frame copys of the colt navy model but there were no southern makers copying Remington revolvers period.
Griswold and Gunnison was the only southern gun makers making brassers they were.36 caliber and had round barrels instead of the octagon barrels.
I think Pietta makes a Griswold model that is almost accurate but it is .44" Griswold and Gunnison did not make any .44" revolvers

Apparently the Italian manufacturers did not do their research before they started making these revolvers

I have to backpaddle a bit on the comment I made about the south making brass frame revolvers patterned after the 1851 Colts there was actually another company making the revolvers in a brass frame and Octagonal barrel.
SChneider and Glassick. it was made in Memphis, TN and was .36 Cal dont know how many were produced
