Nicest Gun Pics

If you want nice gun pics, talk to P95Carry. I especially like the Big .454 explosion (hoping I'm correct on the caliber). I've made it my desktop image.

Gotta love the battlewagons! I got to re-arm the New Jersey at sea - NOTHING at sea is as impressive as a battleship underway, in person. Carriers are bigger, carry more firepower, but are clumsy and bulky looking compared to the sleek deadly battleship. All gone, unfortunately...

I wonder how far that ship moves sideways when all those guns fire at once...

Firearms pictures,

Ken Lunde's Pistol Walpaper Pages have some pretty nice images.

As for pics I've taken myself, I was more or less happy with the way this one turned out, but the contrast is a little weak. I'll keep experimenting, and I need to invest in some lighting.

Look at the bow and the disturbance in the water in the second pic. Looks like maybe 20 feet or so.......

I'd wager that's much more than 20 feet. Those things are ginormous.

I came across these on this forum. As a trained studio photographer, I really appreciated them, and saved them for a rainy day. Enjoy.

Even 9-16in guns can't make a 50k ton ship move sideways. What you're seeing is the blast's effect on the water, not the ship moving.

my Grandad served on the New Jersey during and after WW2
he had a Picture of the New Jersey that was taken after he was discharged , I would of sworn it was the same picture

I think it was this one

those are 2 different ships, look at the configuration of the fantail

peter, they are talking about the comparatively small disturbance lines moving laterally away from the ****, not the huge disturbed surface area.
Now look at the right side of the pic, see those random waves that "just developed" coming out from the ship? Those are very obviously made by displacement.
Short: Yes the ship does move, the distance is more than you would expect for such a heavy bathtub, and that's why they dont often release the entire battery at once.

But when they do all let loose, man that thing rolls.
