I just got me a G30 and I am looking to put night sights on it. Which brands do y'all suggest? I was looking at Meprolight, trijicon, and novak. So many choices, I just want to find the brightest out there. Thanks for any help.:D

My choice

I am really happy with my Truglo TFO's ---best of both worlds, tritium at night, fiber optics by day ---seem to be very durable, that would be (and is)
my suggestion...

My G30 came with factory nightsites which work great. I have standard plain Novaks on my 1911's and really like the sight picture. If I had to replace my OEM Glock nightsites I would go with a pair from Novak.

Meps. They are bright as hell, and several gunsmith's around my neck of the woods state they stand up to abuse better compared to other brands.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I think from these and others from another thread i just found I am gonna try my luck with the Meprolight sights. Seems a lot of people feel they are the brightest. We will see when i get them.

Happy shootin' y'all:D

i really like the meprolights myself, but i am a big fan of the three dot type sights, so that is why i say those. but since the 30 is a compact gun and probally be used for ccw, i also like and had a set of the xs 24/7 sights on my model 19. they were quick on target and easy to see at night. i really like them, and am thinking about a set for my kahr k-40 they are perfect for ccw.

Correct you are possum. It is my CCW partner. I wish I knew a place locally that had the XS 24/7 so I could try them out. I friend has some Mepro's so i know what they are like. The trijicons would also be a possibility, but only because of experience with the ACOG scope in Iraq, never any experience with pistol sights.

Another vote for Truglo they are truly the best sight going right now when it comes to night and day visibility.

I'm happy with the Meps on my G29...real close to same size as the G30.
It's my usual carry.
I went with 2-color sites and am glad I did.

I've had Meprolights on a past gun. They were fine, nothing wrong with them, but these days I have TruGlo TFO's on all (or at least almost all) of my handguns.

Another vote for the TruGlo TFO's, but Mepros and Trijicons are also fine. You can also get Trijicons in colors other than green if that matters to you at all.

The beauty of the TruGlo TFO's though is that at night you've got the same effect and visibility as any other night-sight (at least any I've had). They're quite bright. However, during the day you also have a visibility advantage with the fiber optics lighting up the sights. So night and day you have glowing high-visibility sights.

I have both Meprolights and Trijicons on various Glocks and both do a good job for me.

Now....I DO think they TruGlo TFO sights ARE they way to go and they WILL be my next night sight purchase for any of my Glocks.

I just had a set of Truglo TFO's grn/grn installed on my Glock 36 and they are outstanding.

If you can attend at GSSF shoot in your area, they often have a deal on NS and someone to install them on the spot.

+1

Love my TruGlo TFO sights. Have them on both my G19 and my G22

tru dots vs Trijicons

Not much discernable difference in the rears.

The front on the Mepros is slightly longer.

TRU DOTS of dubious age on the 17 at left, month old Trijicons on the 19 at right.

Would you post a pic of the TFOs on the 19, if you have them? The only reason I shied away from TFOs is that they look huge on the already bulky Glock to me.
