Primary "bump in the night go to gun" is my MSAR with Aimpoint, 120 lumen surefire light and laser. Power of a 5.56 in a very short package that is easy to manuever around corners.

I do also keep a glock 21 with streamlight light/laser and trijicon red dot combo within reach of the bed. My carry guns are a HKp2000sk and Ruger LC9. I disagree that you should keep your concealed carry gun on the nightstand bc for most concealed carry is a compromise between fire power and concealability which is not necessary in a HD gun. Be proficient with both.

Of course the first line of defense for any home should be a good dog that is capable of doing more than just bark(though 2 is preferrable).

For me its my S&W 4006TSW, i shot well with it, and i like the Winchester 180gr bonded JHP i use in it. But i used to keep my CZ-75B with Remington 115gr JHP, in there for years before i got my S&W. I shot very well with it, as you can see i like steel. All i need now is a Streamlight TLR-1 for my S&W.

My nightstand auto has changed recently... It's now a G26 w/ ghost ring sights.

The rollmarks aren't polished off, they're just hard to see because of my crappy camera. The barrel and extractor are also polished, but only on the sides. It still looks stock from the business end, and when looking down the sights so no shiny distractions. The mag in it is a G19 mag with a +2 extension for 17 rds or I put a 31rd mag in it, depending on how I'm feeling that night. The original 10rd mag w/ pearce +0 extension is used for carry, with the 17rd as a reload (or 31rd if I'm going to a bad neighborhood for work).

Usually this:

though for bedside duties it sports a TLR-1 on it and resides in a Don Hume H722 Tac (discontinued but an excellent leather holster for the price)

But usually for home social work, I prefer my 12 gauge.

Baby Eagle 9mm with Trijicon NS.

I also have a CZ 75B that sits by the wifes nightstand. I also keep a 627 R8 in the safe by the nightstand.

If the intruder gets past the tripwire (my dog), it's most likely my XD45 with flashlight/laser.

Since I am a heavy sleeper I rely on my early warning system called Tillie ( Lab/Pit ) After she engages the unwanted guest I come in with my Ruger SP101 for the cooptagraw, sucks to be them.

After the Tiger(Plott Hound) wakes up the world. My winter carry (HK USP 40 w/ tac light) is attached to the bed frame for clean up duty...

Usually just a plain ole GLOCK 22 w/ trijicons an old surefire 6p upgraded to LED's and just for fun (pic) an old S&W 820 first run production...also have old painless...a fully rigged 1187 also with night sights 7+1 capacity 12 ga...been meaning to get a SFIV tac stock for it...just don't ever really use it much (you know...unless the Zombies are at it again in the backyard!) ;) sometimes my XD9 rides in it's place (G22) but usually it's the .40...can't get nightsights that shoot POA for the XD apparently (I have 2 XD9 4" and they both require taller rear sights) trijicon and mepro don't make a taller rear for some reason. I love the gun...but have never had problems getting night sights the right hights for GLOCKs of any model...you'd think as popular as they are this would be addressed by now. I sometimes play with a TLR-1 but generally preffer a separate light...long guns I preffer a weapon mounted light. I'm carrying the G22 at work right now so I guess I carry my nightstand guns. again some days it's an XD9 or PF9 or LCP...depends what I'm wearing and where I'm going. Nightstand duty always falls to the service size HG's though.

My nightstand gun is an HK USP full size .40 S&W with night sights. I just added a jet funnel and am currently reliability testing the extended mags so the gun is temporarily grounded. In the mean time a SIG P250 9mm will serve the roll until reliability has been re-established with the HK.

2 Sig P228s one for the wife and one for me.

870 Police mag under oneside of the bed 870 20 guage under the other.

It's not really too big to carry. I do that occasionally. Just a bit heavy, weighs more than my 329PD.

This is on my night stand every night.

Nice to have 13+1 rounds of .45 ACP ready to go plus an extra magazine. All in my Gunvault.
