Night Vision Scope

My system has a second control panel up stairs to check zones and shut down or turn on the system so if yours, or your mom's, doesn't have the upstairs panel with zone indicators and controls I'd recommend it highly to avoid those trips downstairs.

She does not have a control panel upstairs, but I will certainly pass on your suggestion to my mother.

I'm sure it would provide some additional piece of mind to her as well as utility since she can check it without going down the stairs.

Just know once she has that panel in her room she will hear you sneaking out and be able to tell what your point of exit is.

If you are worried about individuals having night vision than the best technique is a PVS-14 mounted behind and Aimpoint or an EOTech. If you have an IR laser and the other individuals have night vision, your toast.

The PVS-14 is very versatile because you can have it weapon mounted, helmet mounted (home defense / hunting you would need an IR Laser) or hand hold it.

The PVS-14 is going to have a wider field of view than a dedicated rifle scope. Most dedicated rifle scopes have magnification and a narrower field of view for hunting. (Probably not the correct choice if you are just scouting rooms).

You probably can find a PVS-14 for around $2,000 but we have found when customers compare lower end night vision (gen 2, blems, low specifications) to high end night vision (image clean, gen 3, best specifications) the money you would save is not worth the quality you are compromising.

The Armasight NYX14 is basicly a pvs14.....see above
I fully agree! I heard from my buddies positive opinions about Armasight so I ordered Nyx-14 on Amazon and have been using it for about 3 weeks, so this is great device! It has the PVS's quality for the better money, of course.
