Anyone out there have any experience with them?* I realize they're two different things, but am trying to decide which would provide me the greatest benefit/enjoyment. Will Parallax be an issue ? Durability? Accuracy and speed of aquisition of targets?* the use will be aside from general preparedness, shooting paper and the occasional can at 10-100 yards on the range* I have tried red dots in the past and enjoyed it, but wonder if I may be better off with a more precise aiming point at 100 yards etc for paper targets, but am not sure if it would be a hinderance at closer ranges? I Haven't had much experience with optics, so I'm in unfamiliar territory and I'm guessing many of you out there know a lot more than I do.* Thanks for your thoughts and input!

typed on my droid with my chubby thumb-fingers.* ignore any misspellings.......

my Daniel Defense is wearing the Nikon P223 3x scope, just mounted it and hit the range over the weekend. I love it, it's easy to pick up and it's sight picture is great! Didn't take long to zero it in at 100 yards. I put about 300 rounds thru it and it didn't loose its zero, target acquisition is quick and easy - I love it! No experience with the other scope you mentioned I like my Nikon.

Chez, Great pic and awesome rig! I've heard nothing but top of the line comments from guys who were lucky enough to get their hands on that lil carbine scope. The P-Series Mount looks great as well. I recently chatted to some Tx. hog hunters who swear that the 3X makes getting on hogs faster then any scope they have ever used. 3 buddies all own the exact same rig. Thanks for posting pic!

Don't see the point of a scope with such a short mounting length.
Or the point of a compact 3X scope with big exposed turrets.
Or a 3X scope with a BDC reticle.
Or a 3X scope with both exposed turrets and a BDC reticle.

Could get a Weaver 1-3 or a Burris 2-7 for the same money.

At 50 yards and beyond, magnification is a great aid. Some would say that BUIS is fine up to 200 yards, but I think that's stretching the truth and surely depends on how old your eyes may be.
I put an M-223 Nikon scope on my AR. The 2-8x version and love it. I'm moving my 1-4x M223 to my 9mm carbine. In general, I think that Nikon provides the best glass performance for the dollar.

I don't mean to hi-jack this thread...but, I've been eyeing up the 3x carbine model as well and I'm wondering if the Nikon p-series (or any other 'off set') rings are necessary for this scope (given its short length)?

BTW- I also don't care for the large turent/knobs, but I like the length and there aren't alot of decent 3x scopes under $150 out there.

I mounted my 3X carbine with regular tall rings. You can get it plenty far back to have proper eye relief. I like the target knobs and the BDC, mine is mounted on a 300 blackout I appreciate the ability to adjust for the very different loads avaliiable to me and to compensate for drop out to 500-600 yards. I shoot irons out to 600 so 3X is plenty to shoot that far out.
