revolver. i agree with the guy and the contact shooting. but im thinking of getting a 9 oz. lcp to carry with my lcr 38 spl. and forget about extra speed loaders and mags.

I voted 9 .380, though in my case I would have voted for 7 .380 instead of 5 .38 special too.

Although I prefer the ballistics of the .38 special I choose the .380 90/100 times due to the ease of pocketing the smaller flatter .380 over the lumpier .38. My 9mm is carried more often than both. It isn't often but sometimes the weather and wardrobe just demands a snub nose revolver and it's good to have one in the lineup for those occasions.

WOW!

Look at the survey votes. 236 votes with about a 51% (380) to 49% (38) split.

Clearly the small frame 38 Special snubbie is far from dead for self-defense.
No, not dead. Becoming more rare maybe. I think belt revolvers are becoming quite a bit less popular these days, but concealable snubs are still popular.

^^The board also skews to an older demographic that may have long-held thoughts on equipment and tactics that originated in a time before the pocket .380 resurgence.

In the same vein, you have a number of younger people who think all you can possibly carry and conceal, is a pocket gun.

Some of us "old" guys, are pretty progressive too. :)

We just kept the "realistic" gun part from the old days, embraced some of the "modern" designs, and increased the firepower.

^ not to mention the revolver cult that resides here ;)
Hey, I resemble that remark. :)

For years, I've been a member of that cult, but I have been saved, and am now moving back to semi-auto again.

But then, that'll make me part of the semi cult. :uhoh:

I like Revolvers best. What can I say? I Cary Two Snubs at all times. The only problem is witch Two do I pick every day.

Picked up a used, but not USED, S&W 'Professional' Centennial airweight .38 642 just a while ago. Uses ring clips, if need be. Won't replace my old 640 .38 but it might to. $350, tax inc. Shoots dead on. Just needs that red insert front sight like my 640 has (yes I could paint it but it IS a professional model.)

Just won't use Buffalo Bore 158s.

Might get a left-handed IWB and pack in spleen position to offset the 640 in appendix position.

Double my fun.

I am a member of the 9mm revolver cult, although if Ruger chambered their LCR in .380 ACP - I'd be all over it :)
