No CCW, what would you do

Never heard something along the lines of this 'CA tap'.

Not to hijack or anything but is this a common sort of thing around the country?

Just to clarify: open carry in Wisconsin is "legal" in that it is not specifically illegal. However, it is generally discouraged by LEOs.
Carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle is specifically illegal in Wisconsin. They have to be cased and unloaded.

Illegals are hired by a driver.

They are piled into a large old car.

Then they position themselves with help of another car blocker style.

Target victim gets into bad accident, is charged with accident etc while all the illegals with control driver sues victim etc.

Insurance pays all...

Ching! The surviving illegals get a small share of the proceeds, the control a greater share and the rest of the money sunk into the next junker car to set up another profit making hit.

The victim has to be set up to actually run into the bait car filled with people in a manner that the wreck cannot be avoided and that the victim (Targeted car) will be blamed.

#1 I always lock my doors when I get in my vehicle as a habbit

#2 why would I unlock it for some random guy tapping on my glass?

I have also never heard of the "california taps". I am glad that it was brought up. If someone rear ended me I probably would have gotten out of the car. Now that I have heard about this I will not get out of my car!

Doors are always locked unless I'm entering or exiting the vehicle.

If a BG did somehow gain entry, may I make the assumption that a person living the reckless life of a criminal isn't a fan of seatbelts? If so, I'm putting the vehicle into the next heavy, stationary object I can find at 30-40mph. I won't ram another vehicle - might hurt those uninvolved and open myself up to litigation.

Can you open carry in your vehicle?

Absolutely not (legally).

"..spit some beech nut in that dudes eye [strike]and shoot him with ol' 45."[/strike]

It honest to god depends on the day. Times are tough and I have a big life insurance policy, so I suppose if I was coming home from church and my business was still going the way it is and I was in one of those black moods I would just stare at him and blow a smoke ring in his face.

At least then wife would have some cash and could retire to the Caribbean or something. Although with my luck, I would prolly lose a kidney and an eye and be paralyzed... So I guess running is the preferred option. Pepper Spray might work to, blow back in a confined space is inevitable, but it would be worse for the perp and maybe it would help ID him.

in GA if you have a CCW license, you can have the weapon anywhere in the car in any fashion. Even in plain sight.
Doors locked should be a common sense thing. How do you open carry legally but can't have it holstered in your car? That makes no sense.
In the situation you described, I would turn off the car, turn on the hazards and get out with my keys. Callin the cops and getting ready to either run or fight.
Or if I was really upset about this, I would pretend to drive to the ATM, and while those idiots are unbuckled in the back, I might hit a wall, or side hit something if I felt I had no other choice. They would be hurt, I would be less hurt, gives me time to ****

I keep my doors locked, My 11 inch long knife in the sheath just beside the seat and the .45 in the center console. Someone taps on my window with a knife its likely it will be much smaller than mine and if not the handgun still owns knife. If I could drive away I would in any case because I was always taught not to pull a gun on someone you don't intend to shoot and not to shoot someone just to injure them.

I could still see perhaps in the summer time windows down and such that someone could manage to get in. If they had a knife I'd go for gun. If they had a gun hopped in and said drive I'd give them a ride they'd not soon forget. Remember the bad guy is on the right side of the car thats the one generally closest to the street lamps, power poles, bridge pillars and other semi non movable objects.

Carry my gun & take my chances.

Of course, that's on top of locking my doors, driving in Yellow & potentially using my vehicle as a weapon. If you're wearing a seatbelt & he isn't & you suddenly go from 40+mph to lamp post you'll probably win.

you'll learn that you don't need much space to make your car into a bucking bronco of blunt force trauma to an unbelted passenger

Stuntman Mike:
This car is 100% death proof. Only to get the benefit of it, honey, you REALLY need to be sitting in my seat...
