Non CCW HD gun: Sig Sauer X5 v Glock 17L

I would trust both, I use a G17 with a Surefire x400, retired my SIG P226 for the Glock. For me it was simple, needed a pistol with a rail, current P226 had none, Glock cost vs cost of P226 w/rail. X5 costs nearly 3 times that of the Glock, I could get a Surfire/Streamlite, night sights, extra magazines, holster, and have $1000 too.

Maybe a bit. More importantly, to point out the extreme lack of common sense an individual would need to have to be stuck choosing between two inferior platforms for a given task, when the individual has free access to numerous superior options.

I'm not saying el godfather has no common sense; just pointing out the insanity of the question. If this question is relevant, we should also debate whether 22LR is superior to 17 HMR for HD. Surely, someone, somewhere needs to know. I don't need to know, and the OP doesn't need to know; but those two statements are true of the question in this thread as well.

I own an OD G17, which I love. But, I have wanted a G17L for a long time. I really see no problem with the longer slide length, and the longer barrel will boost velocity.
Plus, I like to shoot my pistols at longer ranges...I would sure like to try out the G17L at that.

I would bet the X5 would almost shoot groups at 50 yards close to what the Glock is capable of at 25 yards.

Well, IMO there are far better options for on the nightstand HD than a 9mm. BTW, carrots, apples & a baseball bat I'd have to choose the bat for HD.
