I am seriously lusting after a Beretta that I don't believe has ever actually been manufactured.

I want a stainless 92FS Centurian, but with an all steel frame. I know the 92s were, once upon a time, made with a stainless steel frame as a variant. And I believe the Centurian lower was identical to the normal, full sized 92/96 lower.

So, first question, does anyone know for sure that a Centurian slide will fit on a frame from a full sized 92?

And second, I haven't been able to find either a used stainless Centurian (or any at all for that matter) or a steel lower. Any of you guys see any of these around? Are they still somewhat available? Or just about extinct?

Beretta never made a stainless steel frame. They did make a couple of steel frame models that were nickel plated. Theese were the Steel I, with vertec style grip and the Billenium, with standard arched grip. Both models have the safety on the frame, so they can be carried cocked and locked. They are rare, so expect to pay $1.5k or better.

As for regular models, a Centurian slide will fit on a standard frame. The frame dustcover will just cover more of the slide.
