who's ox is getting gored
or who is getting "bushwhacked" ....? ;)

And to think some of the largest sporting good stores in the upper midwest with stores in MT, SD, ND, IA, and MN decreed some weapons such as the AR family as not suitable for sale, yet they will sell you a Mini 14/30 and M1A or M1 Garand without thinking.
That would be Scheels, right ....? Went thru that with them.

Among others too, I suppose.

I have foresworn, forever, shotgun sports because of the "golfers with guns" that basically look down their noses at the extreme types in the NRA and redneck rifle and pistol shooters. The worst are the faux-english squire phonies that shoot sporting clays.

Despite the shortcomings of the NRA and the impatience that I have for them sometimes, you should not be allowed to own a gun unless you belong to and support it. Our distant brethern in the skeet, trap and shooting clays fraternity do not support the "extreme" positions taken by the NRA nor its image.

I was a guest at a club this weekend where I saw a graphic example of the status accorded those vile rednecks that shoot metallic cartridges. It is indeed a beautiful club with acres of tended skeet/trap fields and sporting clay stands. You do notice however that the road going to the metallic ranges is dirt and gravel. The paving ends at the last skeet range.

The way I see it, these squires are getting a free ride from the shooters who belong to the NRA and other gun right groups.

My personal experiences with shotgunners mirror those of jaysouth. What a bunch of arrogant you-knows! Plus, they complain they can't hear "Pull" when the Highpower folks are getting underway (at my range). (Come to think of it, we can barely hear ourselves at times, but oh well...) Ugh!!

And I am aware that not all hunters are gun-rights folks. Most aren't even shooters. I've always thought an AR-10 would be a fun whitetail rifle, but my "hunter" coworker thinks it would look stupid. (Of course he has to have a Harley just so he has what he thinks a motorcycle should LOOK like. Plus he's only about 5' 4" so a sportbike is outta the question.)

Now that I recall, I wanted to take my AR-15 deer hunting last year. I could carry a 5-rounder in the gun and a 30-rounder spare in case some yahoo started shooting at me! Yes, it is illegal to have the 30 rounder in the woods in season, but just think of the return-fire possibilities.

Okay, sarcastic ranting off now.

Hey now, quit bashin the golfers!
Of course, my personal golf game is nothing to scream about, but it is entertaining to my buddies!

Golf will never be a practical game for me until I can crush the ball with a driver and not be certain that I could hit the ball with my heavy barrel 308:D after it lands.

It's kinda ironic to me that, in one of the most anti-gun states in the country, everone I've met/talked to at the trap range "gets it" about the AWB. I shoot trap more than any of my metallic cartrige guns, and I've yet to meet someone who doesn't realize the ultimate goal of people like the brady bunch. Although maybe it's because Maryland gun owners have already had to deal with some of their bs firsthand.
