I just made a donation to the NRA, yes things are tight, but it's the only way to really do something positive for all of us. By the way some of what he said were things I mentioned last week and got reemed for. The Video games and movies, specifically. These have an effect on mental cases who sit in the house and do nothing but obsess on violent behavior.
And the mental health problem, the elephant in the room, that we have no money to fix. I also volunteered for any type of part time patrol, of our schools or other soft targets in my area.
These are the things that I can actually do to help, we should all find something positive we can do instead of arguing about these things every day, a realistic approach is something that benefits us and our rights, otherwise no one should complain because if you aren't part of the solution, sitting back and demanding things that we know won't happen, "like this is going to go away", is just a waste of time. We should all ask ourselves what can I do to try and save lives and shape public opinion.
If thousands of NRA members were allowed to patrol schools, all of a sudden the NRA would be the good guys.
If that never happens then so be it, but at least we tried, someone should start a formal petition to petition the state or federal govt, to allow qualified NRA members to patrol schools immediatlly. Not to stop and search, just to patrol the outside of the buildings until a formal test of competancy could be made up.
