In my mailbox yesterday, I got a big envelope from NRA, containing a picture of Charlton Heston. The included letter stated that the NRA was using "Liberty Points" (or something like that, I'm at work and I wish I would have brought it with) for specific actions you take with the NRA, such as renewing your membership or giving them your e-mail address. With these "Liberty Points" you could get a discount on a membership, even a life membership for $240-$270 (once again, I don't have the specific number, but under $300). It actually seemed pretty do-able to reach the number needed for a discount on a life membership. A life membership, BTW, is $750. Anybody else get a letter like this? I do apologize for not having it in front of me, but the letter is a state away right now.

Yeah, I got one. The mailman (or someone) bent my picture! Not that I would of kept it anyways :)

I didn't spend enough time on it to see exactly what it was. I saw the point thing and just thought more marketing for donations. I almost wish they would straight up ask for money and not offer things like cheap pins, someones book I'll never read, deck of playing cards, etc. But I guess whatever gets people to donate for the cause is good.

Actually thanks for posting; I didn't even read half that stuff yet. Now I'll have to get cracking . . .

Got it, read it, decided it was a ploy to get donations, threw it away.

I got one too, and mine was also bent.

    And my name was misspelled.

For a laugh, I thought about auctioning it off on Ebay.

Got that one too, and didn't read it since it was my 3rd NRA donation solicitation this week. Now I guess I have to dig it out of the trash and read it since i've been thinking about switching to Life Membership lately. Do you lose out on the leather jacket if you take these "points"?

It sounds too good to be true. Even if under their offer Life Membership was $300, and I had to spend $100 in donations, I still would be saving $350.

    Comped Membership

I ain't no artist(Like Oleg), but think I deserve a comped Life Membership for my NRA bumper-sticker "idea": I'm the NRA: back-off or I'll blow your freakin' head off, & have a nice day:rolleyes:
