Nuke all Muslims

I've got no issue with anyone's race, religion, faith or otherwise.

It's zealotry and blind following I have an issue with. I try not to "talk religion" with anyone, because as an agnostic I tend to see it as a bit of a non-issue. With regards to the acts being connected with the Islamic faith... that's nothing about religion to me. That's about power-hungry evil people using religion as a rallying banner to make undereducated or underthinking people hate others.

Every government on the planet practices this - even, as much as I may pay for this comment - the US government with it's strong Christian overtones.

The Islamic faith didn't kill Berg. People being pushed into hate killed Berg. One of the problems I have with organised religion is it's power to swing people into doing stupid things. This doesn't mean I have a problem with religious people - just with abusers of power in general.

Anyway. Gritted-teeth rant over.

This is not a theological discussion.

This is not a discussion about which monster did what under the tenets of what faith.

That conversation will stop. Now.

This is a reminder that any displays of bigotry or calls for genocide will result in the removal of the offender. Period.

Repeat: The "my god can beat up your god" crap will cease and desist after this post, or you will be gone.

I hope I have made myself crystal clear.

Normally I won't post in threads about religion because simply put it's not worth
the effort, however one statement I seen and I have used it myself is "this guy
or that group is great people" I think we do this at times to be pc or perhaps
it's the nature of americans to always be for the underdog, and I think it's
great we do this but in the end I care not what race, religion my neighbor
is as long as he stands with me in defending my country. Until that time I
retain the right to be wary, treating him with respect but reserved in final judgement.

Well said, Law Dog.

I know/have known good folks of ALL races/creeds/colors/national origins.

That being said, I also know/have known Bad Guys of all races/creeds, etc.

I simply refuse to use the "wide brush" against any group. I give anyone the benefit of any reasonable doubt.

The Arab/Muslim Communities (per se) are NOT the Bad Guys. There is a very small percentage of Radical Extremists that make it difficult for all people of that descent.

Am I angry and outraged over the beheading incident? Yes, angry beyond any semblance of reason. But will I call for the nuclear destruction of the 'Middle East'? Absolutely NOT. Those responsible for this must be caught, and dealt with accordingly.

To me, "The Media" bears a huge burden of guilt in this.

Terrorists are what need to be wiped out. Islam is just a faith, whether you practice it peacefully (like your friend, I assume) or fanatically, like all the Muhammed Atta's out there.

My thoughts

People have been committing acts of terrorism in the name of their faith for thousands of years. Look at Ireland or here in the US for some radical Christians. People claiming to be Christians have blown up buildings, lynched someone because of their skin color and beat someone because of their sexual orientation. The KKK likes to quote scripture to make it sound like they are doing Gods work, but in reality they are doing nothing remotely good.

I was raised in a Christian home that would not condone any violent behavior. I do not hold any grudge against Muslims. It isn’t their fault that these whack jobs are out there committing acts of violence against American’s. There are plenty of violent groups that claim to be Christian. I am glad that people are not holding the acts of these madmen against all Christians.

Thank you LawDog, Derek, and all moderators.

I know only four Muslims well enough to discuss such things with.

One of them is a fan of Osama Bin Laden and grins whenever one of the 'infidels' is murdered.

The other three are as disgusted by the barbarism of the terrorists as I or anyone on this board.

Should I condemn the three because of the one, because they are nominally of the same religion? Not in my worst, most angry moments!

Defending or condemning any "group" based on their race, religion, national origin, sexual preference, etc. is massively stupid.

I can only make my judgements based on what people DO. Find and kill the barbarians who commit acts such as the beheading, be they Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Druids or whatever. Leave the rest of the people who simply want to live their lives in peace alone.

:D

Putting on my John Lennon album --- "All we need is love"

Tie-dying my T-shirt and "peacing out".

Enough with the "HEAVY VIBES" on this tread, man!

Which way to Woodstock?

I thought for the most part we grew out of judging everyone in a race, religion, or other group as the same a long time ago...

[sarcasm]I have to go now. One of my neighbors did something stupid, and none of the other neighbors apologized to me for it. Why do all neighbors support her behavior??

I also better apologize to every black person I see for what the KKK has done. [/sarcasm]

If anyone ever says the Holocaust can not happen again, I will direct them to a few threads on this BBS.

EDIT: I remember a thread on Democrat Underground where a women asked why the NRA did not apologize for the Littleton, Colorado shooting.

The point I am trying to make with this thread is too important to be hi-jacked into a religion/Hitler/whatthehellever thread.

This thread concerns the palin and simple fact that The High Road has not, is not, and will not tolerate demands to slaughter an entire religion because of the acts of a few.

When I start banning people for failing to get their genocidal urges under control, I don't want to hear any excuses.

The off-topic posts have been removed to a thread of their own.

Derek Zeanah is a devout Muslim.Derek Zeanah is a devout Muslim.

Those who advocate "nuking all Muslims" or "wiping out Islam" are threatening a friend of mine.
They are also advocating a course of action that has been tried over and over throughout history and has yet to work. You can never destroy terrorists or terorrism by killing them all because there are always more. You destroy them by taking away the reasons they have a support base in the first place... without general support, they dry up and blow away.

Your point is dead on the mark. And you only have to take one small step back and look at the picture to see the real problem.... good people who brake for cats and love their mothers and help people in need have been subjected to the demonization of an entire race, when in reality, only a very specific set of people within that group are our enemies.

If you wonder how it is possible good people can be made to do what is shown on the video tapes... the first step is demonization of the other gy. Once you succeed in doing that, the conscience is bypassed because he is seen as "sub human" and deserves whatever he gets.

That is where BOTH sides are at the present, although one side is clearly more brutal than the other.

NO. You should shake the hands of the three and thank them for their support. Then beat the living crap out the grinning guy who likes Osama and then throw him into the cargo section of a 747 bound for Iram. They don't pump air into thoise bays, so be sure to tell him to take a deep breath before they close the door.

Seriously, you must have some self control if you can talk to that guy without planting a heel kick into the side of his head.

I read all the posts but keep in mind that there is a common thread that brings us all to THR. We ALL have a common interest and it is our common ground here. I am relatively new as a member, but have lurked for some time. I have seen other boards literally "implode" from similar threads, but hope everyone here takes a step back, and realizes that it is our similarities that bring us all to THR. Thanks to the Mods for allowing free speech, and having a common sense approach to moderating.

FWIW, there is a difference between American Muslims and middle east
Muslims.

I've encountered both. A lot of people here haven't.

This is supposed to be about guns.

Lets stop talking about this crap.

ANM

Indeed: The very reason that most of us carry guns is to protect ourselves, our families, and other innocent people deserving of protection.

It is the height of non-rational "tribal" thinking to talk of harming innocents because they are of the same race, or religion, or nationality as someone who has harmed us, and we are too blind to notice the difference.

Y'all hear about the chicken that joined a religious order?

Yup.

It became a Friar.

:neener:

(OK, it works better when spoken...)

While I concur with the premise of this thread, I find the "Come on, bring it on, let's see who will be the first one banned" attitude of the moderators rather disturbing. The High Road came to a fork and some here went right up the middle and hit a tree.

Kinda sad.

No matter where you stand on this issue, no one can deny that this all stems from a case of adultry.

Adam and Eve; Cleopatra and Marc Antony; Helen of Troy; what the Hell are you talking about?

<Goes back and rereads entire thread trying to figure out where nuking Islamists stems from adultry>
