I did like a pretty smooth answer Obama had about gun control policy: He's for it, of course, but doesn't want to disturb the "traditions" of those who aren't.

He said something to the effect that gun owners didn't appreciate Easterners "who drive Volvos and sip white wine" thinking they were crazy.

If true, is he feeling the heat of the gun control policy a bit and backing off? If so, it's a good thing. Not that I trust him or will ever vote for him.

He's a flyweight politician with a smooth delivery. Maybe, just maybe, when he grows up he'll come to understand the utter lunacy of his liberal philosophy, but don't hold your breath. He is what he seems: a lying politician. But I repeat myself.:D

Don't pass him off too lightly. He makes 'slick willy' look like an amateur. Later in the election cycle Hillary will tap him for VP. Even if the Hillary / Obama ticket doesn't make it he'll be back next time. Personally I think it's almost inevitable that he'll be pres some day.

The up side - is that if somebody like that gets elected, it revitalizes many to take a stand - I know conservatism had a better revival under Clinton than it did under Reagan and I expect the same thing will happen if Hillary / Obama take the white house next Nov.

He doesn't want to disturb our traditions but he will anyway ... 'for the public good'.

No. He is pulling the wool over your eyes.

Obama is a high-octane, Chicago gun grabbers. He has told me to my face that he wants them all.
He's a Chicago politician. I guarantee you that he's got more skeletons in his closet than Jeffrey Dahmer. I also guarantee you that when the race tightens up, Hillary will make absolutely certain that you know about each and every one of them.

What this will do is damage Obama to the point where he can't win... it will also alienate enough Black voters that Hillary can't win.

I just hope that the person to benefit from this isn't Rudy "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuehrer" Giuliani.

HE do talk de talk, do he not?
Being a Chicago Democrat I think we all know what will happen should we find Mr. Obama ensconced in either the Executive Mansion or the Naval Observatory abode.
*sigh*
Perhaps I should soon begin looking for a good single shot .22, .30-06 and 12 ga. or maybe even a Brown Bess, you know... "traditional" guns...

He and his wife (with her $250,000 Democratic machine "no-show" job in Cook County) are just a professionally and prettily packaged Chicago machine politician, that happens to have the right ethnic multicultural background to appeal to a variety of liberal guilt complexes.

Not a single reporter has ever bothered to scratch the surface and report on any of his policies, investigate his Illinois legislative voting record or ask any hard questions for fear of being accused of racism.

His comment to Hillary about not taking "special interest" funds for his campaign should have been a high, floating fast ball for her.

Her response should have been ... "Senator Obama are you referring to special interest funding like Tony Reczco and other Chicago figures under indictment now, that funded your Senate run and paid for a major part of your home under the table? Or were you thinking of something else?"

He's a triumph of style over substance. All you need to know about how serious he is as a potential POTUS is in his answer to the "debate" question about what would you do if the US was attacked again, as we were on 9/11? "I'd make sure our first responders had the equipment and training they need to handle the casualties."

Striking back and retaliating never entered his mind.

Back this train up. I lived in NYC for 25 years. I drove a Saab for 3 years. My preferred wine is Reisling. I love guns. I have seen plenty if high-line vehicles at the shooting range before. Those guys with five-figure trap and skeet guns usually aren't driving a rusty '83 F-150.

But hey, to gun-grabbers, we're all a bunch of rednecks.

Well thank goodness. Now I can vote for him. My traditions are as follows:

- Shooting military style assault rifles
- Carrying handguns of all types everywhere I want
- Training with sniper rifles
- Going shooting with kids

I am getting ready to start new tradition that involves a Barrett .50 BMG assuming they don't get banned before I get back from defending freedom.

Just to be clear traditions can and do change. Constitutional rights are not supposed to.

Listen closely.

Wait a minute.

I am a gun owner and avid shooter.
I own evil black firearms that apparently have no use other then killing babies, causing global warming, killing endangered condors and making me 1000000 times more likely to snap and go on a killing spree or rob a 7-11.

I also drink white and red wine, that don't have screw caps.
I also own a Lexus.
I also give to my local Fire Department as well as try to help those folks that need it such as Katrina victims etc.
I like music from Motley Crue, to Enya, To Beethoven.

I am just as likely to pop in a cheesy 80s-90s action movie as I am to sit down an read one of the classics.

So where do I fall, huh? Oh I guess I, like most gun owners, and people for that matter....don't fall in some little stereotypical box do I. But that makes is so much harder to villify me now doesn't it.

Politicians, I swear a larger group of degenerate, lying, megalomaniacs you will rarely find. Oh, I'm sorry Senator Obama, did I just box you into an unfair stereotype. :scrutiny::rolleyes:

Obama and Hillary are both empty archetypes. They aren't people, they are iconic projections of the vast army of the eternally frustrated and depressed. I have yet to hear either--and both are renowened for their smarts--say anything I respected. In their emptiness, though, they are dangerous, two black holes that will swallow up our essential liberties if they ever get serious power.

I like Bushmaster AR-15 rifles, Handguns, watching TV shows, The Boston Redsox, The New England Patriots...

I don't drink alcohol or take mood or mind altering drugs (anymore) except for caffeine.

I do watch American Idol, Listen to Slayer, and also listen to New Age music and also Tori Amos... I love all kinds of music.

I believe my Bushmaster is the most important tool I own. That is a tradition I will not let go of.

romma,

If you are ever in Providence let me know. Any Bushy/Sox/Pats fan deserves a beer from me.:D

Oops, reread and saw you don't drink anymore. How about a coffee?

El Tejon said, Obama "...told me to my face that he wants them all."

I sense a very serious story there...please tell us about the encounter. This is huge!!! I am sure that I am not the only one who would like to hear about Obama's firearms position.

I'm curious.

On the other hand, I can't imagine any reason to vote for Obama, regardless.
