Ok own up. Who admits to watching sons of guns

There are a couple things that make me change the channel on that show. Watching grown men with crap stuck in their tongue at a range jumping up and down squealing like a little boy. Some person with identity hidden for nationality security to come on wanting a new weapon systems that have been on the market for year. A boss that no one that I know that has any self worth would put up with more than one day. Any business owner that goes into a "Fulfillment Agreement" without a written contract or substantial down payment. That is not reality TV it's junk TV. But its better than the one in Co where the daughter shows up to work with less clothing on than a Barbie doll wears.

I'd bet that if you studied the credits at the end of the show real closely, you'd find Will Hayden involved in the production somewhere. I'd betcha it's HIS show about HIM and his SHOP's awesomeness.

Same with Pawn Stars, and Counting Cars, and American Restoration. I'd betcha that Rick Harrison is involved in producing all of them. They're all in Las Vegas, and two seemed to have spun off from Pawn Stars.

I did not say that the show is "Small Business 101" said I liked watching it for managing small business. Shall I say, "compare and contrast."

However, his concern for employees financial health and his being pissed off when an employee throws a tantrum, in public are pretty real. Based on my experience, which may be different than yours.

Good luck in your small businesses, like I said, it is a daunting challenge and you have my total respect.

I can't tolerate the daughter, her voice just grates on me like a chalkboard screech, and her attitude- well..she needs to go.

There are a couple of other gun shows that are better IMO. None great.

They jumped the shark and lost me when they chrome plated the M1919, painted flames on it and got those two idiots from American Chopper to come down and consult on attaching motorcycle handlebars to it, using the brake lever as a trigger.

The show leaves me wondering how many people are left believing cars just blow up when hit by bullets.

I was left scratching my head when they used a threading die to thread a shotgun barrel instead of doing it on a lathe. What, can't any of the 'gunsmiths' thread on a lathe?

The fake drama has just about driven me away. A 40 rifle order is sending them into bankruptcy but just a few shows ago Will was flying to Jordan? Really? And do Kris & Stephanie really think people will want to buy gear from their new Internet business? And how do their 'walk-in' customers seemingly have their Form 4 processed in a week?

I would like to see a show about Vince's business...I think he's the only one of the workers who is actually trained as a gunsmith. And just to show that I'm willing to give credit where it is due, I will say that I was impressed with the woodwork Will did in fitting a new stock to that guy's old shotgun.

I watched a few episodes to get a feel for it, and it resulted me in disowning the show.
a lot of people at work know that I'm a gun guy, so they assume I like anything with guns involved (which is usually the case), and I tell them I think its absolutely stupid. This show has made a mockery of gun owners everywhere. I mean they just slap crap together, and throw their logo on it charging a ridiculous price.

The thing that got me, (besides the 1919 abomination) was the "Contract" for the 'Desert AR's' for the nuke plant security. It was just an AR that was dressed up with overpriced components. they were hell bent about being reliable, but didn't even bother changing the gas system to a piston system. Granted, DI is reliable, but in those conditions, a PDS would fair much better. aside from the ridiculous drama, the workmanship and ideology behind their products is beyond pathetic. I would never brag, let alone buy an RJF product.

And how do their 'walk-in' customers seemingly have their Form 4 processed in a week?
I wondered about that too, unless they are FFL dealers with a SOT, and its just made seem that they walked in off the street?

Maybe a FFL/SOT dealer here can answer this one?

My guess is that if all you critics tried to make a show it wouldn't make it to the pilot phase. Of course it is scripted, it's entertainment television not a documentary.
For those so simple that they get tricked into watching these shows I am sorry.

Liking it less and less each episode. We basically only watched it to see guns we have never seen before but this season more than any it's become Peyton Place.

I keep telling myself, this is the last time. But they have amazing skillz.:what:

I watched 3 epidsodes before I knew it was not for me. I was very dissappointed because when I first saw the previews for it, I thought it would be right up my alley. Instead it ended up being manufactured drama like American Chopper and customer plants like Pawn Stars. Reality TV can ruin anything it seems

Let me guess, they are always on a critical deadline and they yell at each other a lot?

Yeah, no. Never watched it, never will.

Doesn't anyone recognize these "Shooting, Gun, Explosion" TV programs as ANTI GUN PROPAGANDA?

They fire "BLACK RIFLES" at targets and the target explodes into a fireball with shrapnel flung all over the place. Somehow they fail to tell you that the shooter has planted 5 pounds of Tannerite, a gallon of gasoline and 10 pounds of powdered charcoal in the target. No they also fail to tell you that the star of the program has an ATF explosives license.
Next comes the RE-Hab of an anti tank gun.... Bang, the target explodes in the same way. Somehow they fail to explain that the projectile that was launched was an inert slug and the super explosion was nothing more than a dynamite charge or lots of Tannerite. People seem to forget or just plain don't know that destructive devices, like the bazooka shell, mortar shell, cannon shell, or any other explosive projectile is illegal to possess outside the military.
I almost puke when the average passerby walks in the shop and declared he wants to buy a machine gun. Problem????? NO PROBLEM lets whip up a super machine gun for him!
No wonder there are the Finesteins and other anti gun ignorant officers of the government who want to get rid of these devices.
We should demand that the people who air these shows publicize the facts relating to this entertainment.

Sorry about the rant! Now I must get back to the questions about whether you can safely fire a 50BMG in a 22WM safely.

Watched the first two seasons, then it got repetitive as heck. Have more fun shooting myself than watching other people shoot. Some of the cool relics mitigate the drama on certain episodes. The DVR weeds them out for me.

I confess I watched it once and concluded once was enough actually once more than enough. Then too, some people are into all that stuff so I guess whatever trips their trigger. Just not something I bothered to watch again.

I watch it. It is funny how the irst few seasons were about a new build evey week and there was one two part episode (where Steph and Kris get married). Now it is one continuous episode, all about the 458 SOCOM builds... I watch it simply to see what guns they are working on. I have seen a couple of their AK builds one was ok, the other was crap. The AR I saw with their name on it seemed like an ok rifle. They do get to work on some great guns though.....

I wondered about that too, unless they are FFL dealers with a SOT, and its just made seem that they walked in off the street?

I'm not a SOT but I've spent a fair bit of time dealing with the NFA process recently. If they were a SOT or gov organization like a police department, they would still have to have a transfer through the NFA registry (form 3 and form 5 respectively). I'm not a SOT, but the form 3s I've seen recently for my suppressors have been anywhere from 1-3 months. I'm not sure what form 5s are running right now, but I would imagine it is similar to the form 3s.

I watch the show occasionally (actually have a friend from college who knows one of the gun smiths on the show) but more for the entertainment of it than hoping for any real information.
