same caliber...

I own 12 1911's and one Model 29 .44 Magnum. I keep the latter because it is of sentimental value and haven't fired it in years..

I've found that .45 1911 ACP are by far the most dependable as far as getting parts, ammo, and performance. The knowck down power of a 230 grain slug is impressive.

Do I have to get in line at the urinal for this one?

Dang, I miss the old troughs. It's sort of a right of passage. It's no wonder there are so many cailbers

i stock

9mm
9x18mm
7.62x39
7.62x25
357 magnum
38 spcl
and those weird nagant revolver rounds

need to get me a 45 :)

The Calibers that I prefer is 45 in handguns and 30 in rifles. The Reason is I only have to deal with 2 caliber of Bullets reloading. I have a lot of different Calibers that I buy the Ammo for, but the 2 Calibers that I reload for will do anything in both Hunting and Self Defense that I want to. I use the 45ACP and 45 Colt. Also the 30-30 and 30-06. With these 4 Caliber of Bullets, I can do anything I want to do.

Hey Texas, did you not read the rest of my post? :banghead: Here, let me copy and paste it for you since you missed it the first time.

"However, the other day I got to shoot a Colt .45ACP for the first time and was amazed. My little 9x18 had far more recoil than did the Colt. In fact, I found the Colt .45ACP to be rather docile and a real pleasure to shoot."

Geez, I hate it when people don't read the entire post.

In auto loaders:

22lr, 9mm, 40S&W and 10mm

In reolvers:

357 Magnum /38 Special and 44 Magnum

That is 6 and enough. I have considered 45ACP, I really like the P220, but don't want to add another caliber. The best thing is I have been able to find 10mm cheaper than 9mm and 40S&W. Forget about 44 Magnum and 357 Magnum, good ammo is now running in the 45 Colt price range.
