This may sound real stupid but I'm a noob to cans.

I would like to get a can for my .45s and use an adapter for putting it on my 9mm at times.

I know it will work great on the .45 but will it suppress any at all with subsonic 9mm.?

BTW I know 9mm is smaller than a .45

What you're talking about is running sub calibers. It's done a lot. The only two .45 cans I would consider are Osprey .45 and ACC Ti-Rant 45. Both will do what you want them to do, and both are pretty good cans.

Best of luck.

9mm through a .45 is fine.

Pretty much every major can in every combo has been metered and posted over at NFAtalk. Look for the "ALL RESULTS ARE HERE FOR COMPARISON".

That said, I recommend the Osprey. Much better customer service and if you get a baffle strike you don't lose your tax stamp as the base is serialized not the tube. It's not take apart but the company will clean the can if you need it.
