Couldn't decide on just "one", but of all the firearms I own, I'd ask the
"genie" to pick one for me from the list of three absolute essential arms shown below:

.308 Ruger Scout (one day I'll own a Steyr)
.45ACP Springfield 1911
.73/12ga 870 Wingmaster - wearing a rifle-sights smooth-bore 18.5" MOD choke barrel

hahaha... wow what a question!

:)

AR-15 (Colt SP1)
1. Ammo and parts easy to come by
2. Excellent self-defense weapon
3. Accurate hunting rifle
4. I like it ;)

First I would be having some words with this so-called mystical genie. Sounds like one of those gun-grabbers we're always hearing about. If limited to one gun only, probably my Colt Lightweight Government in .45 ACP, along with my TacSol .22 conversion unit.

Juat to clarify

It was not really about losing your guns.

If there were past threads I apologize

I just got to thinking if I had to sell all my guns (for God know what reasons), what is the ONE I could not part with. I came up with my CZ.

SO I thought I would post the question to elicit answers and make them think, which is my all time favorite I could never part with. The easy answer - you aint taking ANY of my guns and kick ass on the genie.

The really TOUGH answer is selecting one. It must be REALLY hard for guys with large collections...How do you choose ? :what:

Glock 26.

Personally I would consider myself an idiot of epic proportions if I picked anything other than a handgun. That would mean choosing to live the majority of my life unarmed.

my needs;
Deer hunting
woods gun
HD
CC
fun shooting

my answer;
Ruger Blackhawk .45C/.45acp convertible.

My Remington 870 with a couple barrels.

You can't get much more versatile than a shotgun with an 18.5 cyl bore and a 28" barrel with screw in chokes. Add a rifled slug barrel to that, and you're good to go.

That's the one. With those 3 barrels you have a bird/small game gun, a medium game gun and defensive weapon all with the same receiver. I don't know of any other gun other than a shotgun that will do that.

AR-15, I'm surprised this is not a more popular choice here. The AR is about as versatile a weapon I can imagine.

12 gage Remington 1100 (with a selection of barrels). First, was my granddad's gun. Second, the shotgun's versatility is unsurpassed - hunting birds, small game, & large game; shooting varmints; devastating power for home defense.

I would tell the genie that coincidently enough, all but my 6" GP100 were lost in a sinkhole just the other day.....

Well while I'd like to have a hand gun and a shotgun too I'd have to pick my FN/FAL select fire rifle. Finding 7.62/308 ammo wouldn't be a problem and IF I decided I just Had to have a hand gun or shotgun getting one off of someone who only had a hand gun or shotgun wouldn't be a problem! :neener:
Of course it could also just be that this mythical genie would run astraddle of my FN and I wouldn't have to make any such silly choice! :D

I don't have many choices. I guess I have to go with a G19 here (I have paid for it via auction site but not taken delivery yet...does that count?) because I think I would need to keep something I could CC.

I sure would miss my Mossberg 500 though. My Marlin 60 would be RIGHT behind. My Taurus 22 revolver and my Marlin XT-22 I probably would shrug off.

If I had significant concerns about my ability to get groceries coming to an end in the near future it would be Mossy 500.

I'll have to go with my Glock G26. It is my primary ccw piece, but I'd rather keep a rimfire rifle if I was stuck or lived in the boonies.
