Ontario Gen II SP-40

Has anyone used this? Think it might be good for dressing deer? Opinions? It looks like a small K-Bar.

No, not much, but it is a good sturdy blade with good sweeping belly that should dress a deer well.

For that price, there are better options for working on a deer. I prefer the Cold Steel Master Hunter, Izula, or even a Mora.

i have an Ontario Gen II SP42. i know it's not the same knife, but it IS from the same line and one thing i think you should know (before buying one) is the coating will come off if you stare at it too hard. seriously, i don't believe i have EVER seen a coating flake off in pieces, before. weird part is the steel under the black coating seems to be parkerized or something because it has a coated appearance but does not come off at all. so... you have basically a coating over a coating and the top one is all but temporary.

I just picked up an Esee Izula and it is a fantastic blade.
