I went with depends on climate etc.

My option was not listed. TN has a HCL (handgun carry license) We're not restrictred to the method of carry or type of gun, as long as it's a hand gun.

I often open carry. I've gone to the suppermarket, gas station, office of my apartment complex, laundry mat. I've never thought that I was doing this "to prove a point", cause trouble, "scare the sheeple" (I do have to say I do like the funny/concerned looks I get from them. I just turn and smile at them and go my merry way). However, I'm also aware that every situation will dictate the method of carry I choose. there are days that I know that I should be conservative and use a cover garment. Other times I say "see rule #1" if people don't like that they can "see rule #2".

The most "flack" (and I'll use that term lovingly) I've gotten about open carry was from fellow "CCW's". I've gotten worse looks from them at times. some of the comments were. You didn't go out like that did you? or, keep it covered.

If I'm allowed to go 70 mph on the interstate, why should I be content when I'm behind someone who for what ever reason wants to go 55 or 60 in the "fast lane" Sure it's there right to go slow. That doesn't mean I have to stay be hind them. I just put my blinker on and "just turn and smile at them and go my merry way"

If someone wants to call 911 about a guy with a gun. Who cares let 'em. It's a free country. They'll become more of a nusince to the cops than I will if they keep it up.

Oh the rules.....

Rule #1: F#^k 'em!
Rule #2: See rule #1

CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD BE YOUR GUIDE

I like having options.
Common sense should dictate, according to your circumstances. Here in Nevada open carry is legal, and I carry openly in less populated areas or when transiting between locations.
However, around customers and co-workers, I opt for concealed so that our discussion is on business rather than the Constitution of the United States that I have long protected in uniform.
Suggestion One when carrying openly: dress so that you don't look like some "Stereotype Gun Nut". Suggestion Two: before carrying openly, make SURE you have learned and practiced Weapon Retention techniques, just in case while you're putting your groceries up on the sales counter, some jerk decides to grab your sidearm from behind or from the side.
Very Respectfully,
CAPTAIN MIKE

Yep, I prefer concealed carry. Let the bad guys try to figure out who's carrying and who's not, makes it a bit more sporting if you ask me. And you did!!!!:D
