Ummm ... no, it's not.

The definition of "lethal" is "deadly; fatal." Since "non" means "not," any definition of non-lethal would have to mean "not deadly; not fatal." Not "non deadly 95 percent of the time," but "not deadly."

Let's face it, over 90 percent of the bullets police fire at perps miss, and are therefore "not fatal," yet we don't classify handguns as "non-lethal" because 95 percent of the time they're fired they don't kill someone. They are classified as "lethal" because they are capable of causing death ... and so are Tasers.

There might be some justification for classifying Tasers as "less lethal," but they are not "non-lethal."
