Opinions on Taurus 605?

msb45 check my post above about the model 445 .44 Spl. My 605 also has a very tight cylinder barrel gap, but has not caused a problem yet. I requested that Taurus open the gap a bit on my 445, which they did, and that stopped the cylinder jamming. That may be all your 605 needs. Taurus had my gun back within a couple of weeks, and it works fine now. My 605 has always done well with evey load I feed it. I prefer using very hot loaded .38spl loads, as I can load them up to .357 factory level cheaper than using magnum cases. I like Hornady's 140gr XTP. So does the 605!

Can't believe I did this 'cause I'm a loyal S&W owner...but the time was right (I had the cash & it seemed like a decent deal, $275). Bought a 2 year old Blue Taurus Model 605 .357 2" that had about 20 rounds fired through it. Now I do not own any Smiths with the lock, this on does have the stupid little key lock in the hammer. I really thought this would be a good revolver for my wife because the 24 oz weight was down the middle between my 642-1 & my Model 66-2 2.5" (the one she really likes to shoot).
So, are the Taurus' safe, reliable, etc.?

Dave
My wife loves her taurus 605 2" snub. She has only shot .38 through it, but likes it WORLDS more than my 9mm's. I am currently trying to find a taurus 94 with the same grip/barrel length for her to practice with :D

Thx Radaray, I'll followup with Taurus. It's a nice handling gun and I like the grips.
