Hi Everyone,

I haven't bought a new pistol in a number of years.

I was wondering what is currently available with the following:

1) 9mm
2) Single-stack (thin)
3) Polymer (ideally w/ rust-resistant slide finish)
4) Full-sized grip (I have medium-sized hands and would like all fingers on grip)
5) Full-sized sight-radius (will most likely be carrying IWB so would prefer longer sight-radius).

What are my options nowadays?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

With those requirements? As far as I know of, nothing..

With exception of Rock River Arms Poly 1911.

You're going to have to go to a gun shop for that one. We were doing great until you got to the grip size. The all fingers requirement has me stumped.

The Kahrs are a great choice. If you can tolerate something a little smaller, check out the Kahr P9.

Ruger SR9 - Meets all of your requirements except for #2 - Not single stack but think nevertheless. It has a reversible backstrap - straight on one side and curved on the other. The straight side makes the grip even smaller. I personally would give up 0.35" in a thin grip to get an extra 10 rounds.

The Kahr TP9 has become my favorite Kahr, of the seven I've purchased. My one change to it is a grip sleeve that I've added, that makes the grip fell better, IMHO.

Glock 17 with Glock 10 round magazines. Not "thin" to those with small mitts but single stack nonetheless.

That is pretty funny  ...but, I'm pretty sure he meant thin when he listed: "2) Single-stack (thin)"...as a requirement

The first thing that came to mind, on reading the requirements, was the Kahr TP9...although, you should try out the P/CW9 for fit also

To give the OP an idea of how slim the Kahr line-up is, a few pics.

Kahr CW9 and a Colt Govt. Model, 1911s are thin, aren't they?

Kahr CW9 and a S&W M&P 9 Compact, a nice slim double-stack polymer, right?

I'd gladly give up the feel of a cylinder digging into the ribs for equal capacity in a comfortable carry. The day I need ten more rounds will be the day I made a bad decision. Plenty of double stacks can be carried comfortably but that wasn't the question posed.

Your parameters are describing the size of the Ruger SR9.

Even though the Ruger SR9 is a 17 shot double stack, it's thinner than my 1911.
It's a very slim 9mm with a full length grip and sight radius.
At the very least, go to your LGS and handle one. I was amazed at how slim it was.
I was looking at Glocks, XDs and M&Ps. Then, the salesman handed me an SR9.
I looked at all 4 models at several stores and kept coming back to the Ruger.
I ended up buying the SR9 with the black nitride slide and am glad I did. I took it to the range today and ran 250 rounds through it. It is boringly reliable. It ate ball and SD ammo without a single failure or incident.
It's also soft shooting.
The backstrap is reversible. You can have it arched or flat, like a 1911a1 or 1911.
Try one, you'll be surprised how slim it is. Especially considering the fact that it is a double stack.
I wasn't sure I'd like it, because of how thin the grip is. I thought it would be uncomfortable for me to shoot.
I thought I'd like the Glock, S&W, or XD grip better.
I thought wrong. I love the SR9. It feels something like the 1911, only thinner and lighter.

BTW, my hands are a thick medium. My fingers are stubby.
Thick, double action autos with double stack mags don't fit my hands.

If you handle an SR9, I think you'll like it a lot. It's exactly what you're describing, size-wise. It just holds more ammo. IIRC, it's the thinnest double stack nine on the market.

SIG P938 with aluminum alloy frame is lighter than my S&W shield with a polymer frame. SIG list their pistol w/o magazine is 16 oz, the Shield is listed at 19 oz. I have the Shield but want to get this http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p938-black-rubber-grip.aspx to replace it. Any reason an alloy frame would not suit your needs? Shield is an OK pistol shoots well works perfectly so far with all types of ammunition. Trigger is in need of some work, and no night sights on the Shield make the SIG more desirable for me.

Bersa BP9cc. I don't own one yet, but from what I've read (and seen online), a full 3-finger grip purchase is possible. The sight radius also looks to be long enough.

Boulder, (again for reference) here's a pic of the CW 9 with a capacity of 1 less than the TP 9 in my hand. I consider my hands large, wear XL gloves and, according to a poll taken on THR I had the second largest hands of respondents last I checked.

Hands models we ain't! :D Here's my current favorite training partner, a K9. This time, a thumb down (not the way I shoot) to show circumference. Again, this has a shorter grip than the TP:
